Cozy little old resteraunt, typical locals bar for a MAINE town, food average yet over priced. It seemed to me that everything on the menu was $2-$3 overpriced. Great place if only choice, but better places in bridgton.
That right, best gumbo ever, north OR south of New Orleans. It's a perfectly spiced chicken & sausage gumbo with a roux as dark as a Louisiana swamp. I get a cup each time. It also comes in a bowl and quart as take out....More
Dinner prices are a little steep considering the other places in town, the food was above average but nothing to lose your mind over. However, the service is excellent!! And the dark, quiet atmosphere made it a nice place for a date night.
I visited this warm and cozy restaurant/bar with my daughter and a friend. We weren't sure what to expect, but were greeted and seated right away at a nice corner table. The menu was heavy on steaks and the prices were a bit higher than...More
Whenever we pass through Bridgton we stop here. We really like this place and have been coming here for years. Good food and the horse stable decor is great. It's cozy and homey. Plenty of parking too.
Reminded me of the 'nice' restaurants my parents went to when I was young. Good service from friendly staff. Busy with lots of people.
Good beer selection and my meal of ginger honey salmon was very good. Would eat here again.

Thank you for those inspiring words of advice, Maggie C. Based upon your own (several) one-star reviews (with special attention given to your statement, "...because there was not a single restaurant in the area where you can sit down and have a decent meal aside from fast food"), it's apparent that you practice what you preach.
For you to pass judgment on people because of their opinions that are based upon their own personal experiences is truly what's "absurd" here. As I said before, you don't know us and have no right to speak rudely about us. Any "shame" here falls into the hands of the business who fails to recognize areas for improvement...which they'll never be aware of if everyone just sugar-coats their reviews to make them acceptable by Maggie C's standards. How fortunate for Rick's Cafe that they have you to defend them!
We never asked for your opinion on our opinion, so..."if you don't have something good to say..."
