We had an out of this world dining experience here...first-class ingredients prepared to perfection...impeccable service...there when you need something and otherwise almost invisible. Will dine here whenever possible...classic cuisine and charming wait staff. Really perfect!

This is the more casual spot at SPI. We went there for dinner and overall it was a mixed bag. The service was inconsistent at best. The food was decent - - and I am sure that if all you want is a sandwich it...More

We continue to love Bogies for food when we are at Spruce Point Inn. It is casual but the food is delicious and the service is always personalized.

We attended a wedding and the filet just melted in our mouths! We enjoyed the passed appetizers and the breakfast the next morning. They were a little scant on the mixed drinks.

I recently made a dinner reservation at Bogies for nine people. I called the restaurant in advance to inquire about seating arrangements to insure we would have a comfortable table and followed up my call with a visit to select a table. The restaurant staff...More

We were picking a child up from camp (a teenager who was serving as a counselor) and this was one of a limited number of restaurants I was able to find on my phone in the car on the way to Boothbay Harbor. The reviews...More

Dear Elizabeth W, Thank you very much for visiting Bogies last week. We are definitely a family friendly restaurant throughout the entire season and particularly at this time in August just before the return to school. Guests and residents alike do visit the casual restaurant...More

Hadn't been here in years (the "88") - it requires more formal dress than daily vacation wear - but the dining room and menu looked enticing. The old fashioned dress code works - particularly in the room - but the service is a complete mismatch....More

Dear island4575, Thank you very much for your visits to 88 while vacationing in Boothbay Harbor. I completely agree that it is unusual that a server would rush service at any time in 88...as it is typically a two-hour dining experience. I'll look into your...More

Food & Wine Magazine came up with the idea of “Collaboration Nation” to describe chefs working with customers, vendors and each other to bring the best flavors and experiences to those who love food. The principles of Chefs Stiles and Weinerth are sourcing, preperation, and enhancement. Here at Spruce Point Inn in Boothbay Harbor, Chefs Stiles and Weinerth have operated on these principles from the beginning, sourcing the locally fished, farmed and harvested ingredients from the best seasonal farms and producers in Maine. They then prepare the menu with cooking techniques that preserve the foods integrity and nutrition. The final product is enhanced by optimizing nutritional value via product combination and menu diversity.Midcoast Maine is the beneficiary of a cornucopia of retired/relocated professionals who have left banking or IT to go back to the land and Chef Stiles – who grew up on a farm in local Lincolnville, just up the road -- has built relationships with local farms and other food purveyors, sourcing ingredients like the fresh Aroostook beets and lavender-honey chevre from Tourmaline Hill Farm, greens from the hothouse built by a drummer from the band Phish and cheese from the State of Maine Cheese Company, a business created by a Manhattan banker in Rockland. It's an exciting time to be in the restaurant business and especially exciting to be part of what’s happening here, says Chef Stiles.
