Food was spectacular. Staff were attentive and responsible. My dining experience was safe and secure. Any suggestion otherwise, in my opinion, is unfounded and cloaked in alterior motive. My dining experience was superb all around. I would recommend this brilliant restaurant to any and all...of my beloved family and friends. The food was off the charts. The Lobster Ravioli.. wow!More

Authentic Italian food with comfortable, friendly service. Try their bolognase pasta! Reasonable prices too. Definitely worth trying while staying in Boothbay. They also own the local pizza shop which we’ll be trying for lunch.

After reading the last couple of reviews I was a bit concerned about the "safety" at Ports. However, I found these reviews unfounded. My table was socially distanced and all of the staff were masked. I find it hard to believe that in today's environment...where small businesses are struggling to survive, that people would post reviews that are so inaccurate. And to order a meal and then walk out with out paying, only shows the character of these reviewers. If they are so concerned, perhaps they should eat at home rather than trying to dissuade from a great dining experience. My meal at Ports was fantastic and if they happen to have the veal chop special, be sure to get it!More

We had reservations for 8:15, which was the only time we could get. We were seated in at a corner table surrounded by other diners. Tables were in a pre-pandemic setting and there was no social distancing at all. After placing our drink and appetizer...order, we became increasingly uncomfortable about the situation. We decided we needed to leave and told host that we were simply appalled by the restaurants lack of following Covid 19 pandemic protocols. His response was "I'm sorry you feel uncomfortable", which was simply unacceptable to us. We would not recommend patronizing this restaurant for anything, given their lack of concern for public health.More

We want all our guests to feel comfortable and everyone has a choice whether to go out to dine or stay home and order take out. When you were escorted to you your table you were asked if this was okay for you and you...More

This is a really unfortunate review to write but I feel so strongly about taking care as we live during a global pandemic that I could not leave well alone. My husband and I left the restaurant without eating tonight. We read rave reviews about...the restaurant and wanted to celebrate our first anniversary at Port of Italy. We made reservations but when we arrived upstairs we were floored by the scene: a bustling indoor venue crawling with diners. On a pre-pandemic night, we would not have batted an eye...in fact, we would have been pleased to dine at a hot spot! When the older gentleman showed us our table we immediately asked if there was one either outside on the deck or away from all of the people. He pointed to a corner table that was still surrounded by diners. We told him we didn't feel comfortable with the lack of social distancing and were expecting something outdoors. He responded curtly that we were looking at "open-air" which wasn't quite the case. I have now read multiple Trip Advisor reviews that are identical to our experience, raising concerns about how serious the restaurant is taking these complaints. Up until tonight, our week dining throughout costal Maine has left us feeling like establishments were super careful about adhering to social distancing decorum. This didn't seem like it was the case at Port of Italy. We decided to leave and eat at Taka which was, by the way, amazing and very safe. Bottom line: the reviews of the food sound sensational, but I would not advise dining at the restaurant and urge customers to order take out instead if you are really craving Italian food.More

Everyone has choices... as you could see the outside patio area was full and we have opened all the walls in the restaurant to allow for outside air circulation. I said if you don’t feel comfortable you shouldn’t stay. We are following all state guidelines...More

Excellent food! Went with a couple of friends. Our waiter, Tony, was very attentive and very friendly. The owner also came over to say hello and checked on us. Everything, including the pasta, is made fresh. Very authentic Italian.

We were a party of 3, including a 3-year old. We sat on their upstairs outdoor seating. The staff was attentive and very friendly, especially to our child. The food and drinks were amazing. Mostly Italian seafood dishes.

We had an excellent dinner at Ports of Italy, food was tasty, the bread and olive oil was so yummy I could have just had that and been satisfied. Waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. The tables were spaced well, we felt very comfortable there with...this COVID-19 pandemic. Would highly recommend!More
