This place only offers haddock and fries but what else do you need when the fish is so fresh, moist and flaky? 2 choices of sauces; homemade tarter or homemade dill (my favorite.) Short wait for great food. Sodas are now being sold in small shed beside building. Loved by locals as much as visitors.

You can probably tell by my reviews lately what state I'm in,(Maine) where the best meal you can get is a fried haddock dinna!! I'm not gonna lie....I'm a haddock lover. Anyway,This place is a very small building that just does all the cooking. You have to eat outside on picnic tables with umbrellas. Tuff sledding if it's raining..Head for the... More

This is an extremely popular roadside food shack. Lots of picnic tables with umbrellas to shield you from the sun. Order a half sandwich or half dish order. It is huge!!! We could not eat it all especially with the fresh kaiser roll. The hand cut fries are delicious too! We did not leave even one! The haddock fish is... More

Just like we've read for 2 years, the portions were huge and the taste was superb. Very simple fried fish is always the best way to prepare. Very fresh fish and very light batter and even the half meal was huge. Even my son-in-law was satisfied with the half meal. Will definitely be back.

Bets Famous has become an annual stop during our Maine vacation. The freshly fried fish is tasty and plentiful and comes served with shoestring potato fries. The Menu is simple: Fish and Chips or Half Portion Size Fish and Chips. Ignore the mandatory Whoopie Pie offered for sale on the counter that every merchant in Maine is apparently required to... Fish shack that takes walk up orders and has a few outside tables for eating in. Portion size is huge. If you are hungry and have a good appetite 1/2 order should do. Cannot imagine anyone being able to each an entire fish and chips meal. They have good tarter sauce and a dill sauce that is also really good.

We had an excellent fried fish meal at Bet's The fish was done perfectly and the extra chips with the French fries were a neat change. Would come back for more Fish and Chips.

There isn't much to the menu - fried fish and chips and fried fish and chips sandwich. They are only open Monday thru Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then again from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. If going in the evening, get there before 7 as they close if they sell out of the fish. A half... More

We had one of Bett's famous fish sandwiches last week. Try to have one every summer. Fish is the freshest and fries are great. We share a half sandwich and half order if fries. Portions are huge. Betts is friendly and always gets the best haddock. It is a place everyone visiting Boothbay Harbor should try.
