We visited for the first time this July, in this new world of social distancing, so not sure what the atmosphere is typically like, but the Biergarten was a perfect socially distant outdoor dining spot. This year during the winter season, the Watershed Tavern is offers a prix fixe 4-course menu, scheduled in alignment with the Gardens Aglow show just down the road. We always find the Tavern to be a very warm and cozy spot, and it is even...better at this time of year with Christmas lighting - it reminds us of a cozy spot in the Cotswolds. The dinner was superb with a lovely soft cheese starter course, followed by an amazing salad of local fresh greens and special touches like the pea shoots. For the main course we had the filet mignon, which was buttery smooth and very tasty - the best we've had in years. For desert we had the lemon tart - which was just the right balance of tart and sweet. Of course during the meal we had a tasting of the Boothbay Craft Brewery beers which were wonderful. We also had some of their unusual tap red wine, which is very, very smooth with low levels of tannins. We sampled one of their stouts - the Steganos - which is one of the most complex & flavorful we've ever sampled. We'll be back for more of the beer and wine! The wait staff is very friendly and very attentive - Shannon was by every few minutes to be sure everything was in order. This dinner was a fantastic kickoff to the Christmas season and our kudos to the the Mitchell's for providing a unique and truly memorable experience.More
Excellent brewery with to notch beers, super delicious pizzas and two bartenders who know their stuff! Go there...NOW!!
Sadly only open Tuesday to Saturday from 1200-1700 the wood fired pizza is perfectly complimented with a flight of craft beer. Lovely spot and friendly staff. Comes highly recommended for a lazy afternoon lunch or early dinner.
Such a welcoming place! We came from out of state and met cool Brett the bartender who told great jokes. Connected with a couple young locals, Janelle and Jacob and had a wonderful time, sampling the great selection of craft beers! It's a must stop...in Boothbay Harbor!More
We made our initial visit to the Watershed Tavern and were very impressed. Excellent Selection of Craft Beers (and I’m not even a Beer Guy)-great Wood Fired Pizzas and Excellent French Fries. Definitely will return again as well as take a Case or 2 back...home. Excellent job!More
We recently camped at the Boothbay Craft Brewery (and Watershed Tavern), and this place is a find. Aside from some great craft beers, they also offer wood-fired pizzas that are really very good. This place feels like a little cocoon - really cute. My only...criticism is their hours are restrictive - Tues-Sat 12 noon - 5pm, so if you can't meet those hours you are kind of hosed.More
We decided to come back after a really bad experience last year. What a surprise! The service was great as always, but what an improvement in the food. Delicious, well prepared and a decent size for the price. On our previous visit, we had ordered...a pizza and it arrives sodden, undercooked, misshapen and very little other than dough and tomato sauce. We are a local bicycle business, and I always appreciate it when a customer lets us know if something is wrong. We did, and it appears to have worked. We will definitely be back!More
We were out and about and saw the highway sign for a brewery. I looked up and there it was. I quickly turned around. What a gem, the place has a great vide. The bar tender was awesome. We had a tasting flight of brews....Then bought sos me to go. What a great find.More
This"Tavern" offers no food, in spite of the advertising and website. Very disappointed. Beer selection mediocre. Service was poor, disorganized.More
