The Fish net is one of those Maine drive in walk up to the window and order resturants. This restaurant is one of the best. The long line of customers at lunch is the first indication that the place is a winner. The Fish Net...menu offers a wide range of items. As expected, the Fish Net has lobster rolls and clams. They also serve lobsters, hamburgers, scallops, hot dogs, Haddock sandwiches, fish and chips, various chicken items plus many other things. They also sell live lobsters that can be taken home to prepare. A large menu with lots of variety. Outdoor seating with nice shade trees. Shelter house available if it is raining. Homemade desserts and ice cream are options after a wonderful meal. Soft serve ~ in vanilla, chocolate, and twist ~ and dipped ice cream is offered in generous sized servings. Give Grape Nut flavored dip ice cream a shot if you have not experienced this unique combination. You will not be disappointed in the Fish NetMore

We had a leisurely lunch in the shade at a picnic table. Fried clams, onion rings and REALLY good wild blueberry pie. We would go bsck.

We stumbled on this place while exploring the area. Our guide book gave it a good review. We thought the fish and chips and the crab roll were okay, but that the prices for everything were exorbitant. We were surprised there were no outside tables...or any places to sit. While there are social distancing rules in place now, restaurants are allowed to have outside seating. Probably won go back.More

We were out for a ride on a beautiful day today and based on a very good lunch we had at the Fish Net a year ago decided to get lunch there again today. I don’t know if they have a new cook or what...went wrong today but our lunch was horrible. We got the seafood platter to share and for $1 extra, which is a very reasonable price, we opted to get onion rings instead of fries. The seafood included was clams, shrimp, scallops, and haddock. When we opened the container we noticed all items were a pale tan colored instead of the nice brown color of seafood that is cooked correctly. There was a significant amount of oil that covered everything in the container and there was a great deal of oil puddled up in the bottom of the container. Even the roll was wet on the bottom from the oil. We did try to eat some of it, as we paid quite a bit for it, but the mushy breading on all of it in combination with the oil coating made the seafood and onion rings inedible. Honestly, it was so bad that it will take us a while to even think about a return visit. Hopefully today was just a very bad day. Our son, who is a professional chef, was with us and he said it seemed like the oil was not hot enough and the food was not cooked long enough.More

Over the years as a returning visitor to Blue Hill, Maine - I have always made it a top priority to make a visit to the Fish Net. While the cover - a pretty simple low key - restaurant does not necessarily give away this...gem, then just wait to you order a lobster roll and a coffee milkshake.....and you're in heaven. No visit to Blue Hill is complete unless you've made a stop at the Fish Net.More

Very good cole slaw and a great milkshake. Fried foods average, but above average tartar sauce- very fresh and creamy. Very nice seated service inside, and outside tables for those that order at take-out windows.

My wife and I stopped in for supper after we arrived at Blue Hill. There wasn't a lot of restaurants close to our inn. The Fish Net was a great surprise. The menu is simple, but the food was wonderful. I had fried chicken and...onion rings. My wife had a hamburger and fries. We topped it off with a "small" ice cream cone at the end of supper. The "small" was quite large (great ice cream). The helpings were large and the food tasted great. We came back the next night for ice cream. This is not a fancy place -- more like a drive-in. It is memorable. But the food is reasonably priced, service is fast and it tasted good. Would definitely go back.More

At the recommendation of our Innkeeper, my wife and I stopped here for lunch and both of us had the lobster roll. They were superb. Good grilled and buttered roll. Good quantity of high quality lobster with just a tinge of mayonnaise. Great lunch.

We love this place. Have been coming here for years and we are always happy with our experience. The lobster rolls do not disappoint. The onion rings are the best I’ve ever had...thin, sweet and crispy. We got steamers which were piping hot and sweet....Delicious. The burger my daughter ordered was a huge hit too. Definitely come here. It’s not the cheapest place but it’s worth every penny.More

I stopped by this place in downtown Blue Hill thinking it might be decent since there always seems to be a crowd. Mistake. I got a crab roll. The woman at the window described it as piled high with crab meat. When the order arrived,...I thought it was a joke. Not only was it not piled high with meat, the bun was tiny and the meat had no seasoning whatsoever. It was the blandest mini crab roll that I have ever eaten. I'll never go back.More
