The delightful restaurant Arborvine is ensconced in a converted centuries old house, adjacent to a brewpub owned by the same family. It is very popular, and one should always make reservations. However, after a long work day, one of my colleagues and I thought we would give it a try--and the hostess at Arborvine was very accommodating, finding us a... More

We made our annual visit to Arborvine for my birthday . The ambience is delightful with the antique decor. The hospitality is top notch from the hostess to the wait staff. The food is superior but the only complaint was that in the room where we were seated the other tables were fairly close so my husband was hearing their... More

What a treat to dine in this sweet restaurant. The food was well prepared, presented and very good. The fresh halibut was wonderful with a lemon sauce, scallops very tasty, swordfish was wonderful. If you can fit dessert, the fresh fruit cobbler is wonderful. If you are in the area, this is the place to dine. Nice wine list.

Our first visit, not sure what to expect, except the reviews were promising. We were not disappointed. A very fine table setting, linen and wares. Waitress very knowledgable on menu. Extensive offerings. Service very prompt, but not rushed. Old world rooms, charming. Reservations a good idea, busy in summer months. Every menu item matched with a suggested wine, extensive list.... This is meant to be fine dining, and the food is good, but we felt it was a bit overpriced. The service was alright, but nothing incredible and we felt out of place despite frequently enjoying fine dining Downeast. They do serve beers from the next-door Deep Water Brewing Co, and I'd recommend going there instead and grabbing a burger... More

We had the Caesar Salad, Capons and Duck with the Duck breast being excellent and the Capons just very good. We look forward to a repeat visit and a check of some of their local seafoods.

We stopped here for an afternoon break and enjoyed a cocktail, a beer from Deepwater, and the calamari. The calamari were perfect. Crisp, lightly breaded, and delicious. I will come back for these many times!

My Important Other had the smoked seafood appetizer and vinaigrette salad while I had the pate and Caesar salad with REAL anchovies. None of that "Caesar salad with anchovie-inspired dressing" that most restaurants try to get away with. All dishes were perfectly prepared and elegantly served. The waitstaff could not have been more pleasant nor the desert of mocha mousse... More

We were very impressed with the service and menu selection. Our salads were so fresh with a variety of local ingredients. My husband said his crab cakes were the best he had ever eaten. My halibut was truly delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.
