Yes this place lives up to its reputation. Went on a Monday around noon. Wasn't overly busy but by 12:30 it was filled up. My husband and I shared the "steamer dinner" which included 1 lobster, a pound of clams, corn on the cob, coleslaw, a dinner roll, and blueberry cake. Except for the cake which was mediocre, everything was... More

Locals and visitors alike meet here in droves. All things considered the lone to order goes more quickly than you would think when you first see it. Parking used to be a nightmare but it seems the owners have picked up some abutting property and you now have a chance at finding parking. All of their food is "tourist" food... More

We loved this atmospheric spot. Queued up to order and chose a great seat overlooking the harbour. Very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Steamed lobster and a lobster salad were superbly cooked. Really enjoyed this experience!

This place was definitely worth the drive!! The food was great, the scenery was beautiful and their lobster rolls and bread they were served on were really special!! I truly love sitting on the deck and watching the Maine boating life happen. Definitely go to the bar (a short walk past the main line that forms outside at the main... More

Long lines to order, but plenty of screened outdoor seating. Prices a little high, but the lobsters were fantastic (soft and hard shelled). Garden salad was impossible to eat because it was served in a small plastic takeout container, but it was fresh (ask for a plate if you order it).

Excellent out-of-the-way spot near Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. This is the place where the locals come! Sweet view of the harbor as you enjoy top-notch food, served up quickly and hot. Of course, lobster tops the bill. We had a lobster roll that was so stuffed with lobster it could have made two meals. The other dish was... More

After a day in Acadia, we took 2 lobster dinners back to our AirBnB cabin and we enjoyed every bite! The takeaway food was packed up well with all the supplies we needed. Everything was fresh and delicious from the lobsters to the blueberry cake! The cashier was helpful in helping us decide what to get, and also indulged my... More

We visited Thurstons about 4:00 and they had light business. I hear it gets really busy later in the day. I had a lobster roll which comes with chips. It was a small roll and it had a lot of meat on it. Very tasty. I also ordered lemon cheesecake to go and it was light and fluffy.

The line was super long when we got there but I saw that as a sign of good things to come and it was!! The line moved pretty quick as you're just waiting to place your order at the counter and then finding your own table. The lobster here was one of the best we had. The lobster roll was... More

This restaurant was featured in my New England Clam Shack cookbook (which I highly recommend) and it's been on my bucket list for a long time. I'm glad we drove out of the way for lunch to try it. I would say it was one of the top restaurants on our trip to Acadia. Casual atmosphere- you order at the... More
