Excellent lobster stew and a fantastic lobster roll. Getting busy as we left but no problem getting a table. Great views!

It doesn't get any fresher than this! A little more varied menu, order at the counter and some covered (not elegant) seating options available. Nice views of the harbor, great lobster!

This was the first lobster roll I tried and the best. I picked this restaurant as it highly talked about it the guide book but then the Airbnb couple I was staying with at Trenton said it is where they go when they want to have good seafood....eat where the locals eat. The restaurant has 2 entrances. One leads to... More

Once you leave Acadia National Park to investigate "the Quietside" of Mt. Desert Island, you should stop in Bernard to eat at Thurston's Lobster Pound. When you see the parking lot and the line out the door, you will know you did not go wrong. Go there for the lobsters..everyone seemed to. Since we had already lobstered our way around... More

Fresh and succulent lobster with all the trimmings! Four of us had a real lobster feast with two of us ordering two 1.7 lb lobster dinners that included corn on the cob, butter, yummy coleslaw, roll and blueberry cake. One of us ordered a lobster salad plate that was lots of lobster, just right and the other ordered a lobster... More

The restaurant sits on the harbor with lobster traps strewn about. We saw the kitchen staff breaking open the lobster to freshly make the lobster rolls. The lobster was delicious. A great find.

From lobster trap to pot before your eyes. Friendly staff, order at the counter and they bring you your meal. A must if you're in the area.

Stumbled on this place, just trying to get to the water. 2 ish in the afternoon. Cars everywhere from everywhere. Lobster, you pick the size. It gets weighed, you pick your beer. Then you pay and have a seat with a number for your table. The best lobster cooked whole I ever had. We both had not quite two pound... More

Definitely out of the way, and different than the Bar Harbor experience. We had a very good meal, while we watched the working boats unload their catch. Lobster roll was very good, crab cake was good. Blueberry ice cream was excellent. Go past the restaurant, on the one way drive, to find extra parking.

Casual place on the water. On the quieter side of Mount Desert Island. Order at the counter as you enter and find a seat and they bring your food to you. It's not cheap, but good seafood isn't. Excellent lobster. Great lobster rolls. Same for the crab roll. Sides were good. Worth the effort to make the trip down to... More
