A little disappointing

I wanted to love this place. Small, homemade soup and sandwiches. Small menu but had vegan and vegetarian options. I found a hair in my broccoli rabe and white bean soup which was delicious until i found the hair. Asked for the open-faced sautéed greens and white beans sandwich but they said it would take 15 min (no problem for me) and that it was hard to do(?). So i settled for the simple carrot soup which was tasty, but definitely a third choice.

Yes, I remember you!! I’m sooo sorry you had that experience at my establishment. Despite great efforts to ensure dining safety, sometimes, unfortunately, and to my great embarrassment, something like this happens… 🙁. We will certainly try harder! I’m sorry you experienced this at my establishment. I AM glad that you found the soup delicious! I hope you will come back for a second chance at the Greens and Beans… I remember that day well, and my tiny staff was overwhelmed when you visited. No excuses! But I will say this has been a difficult year, striving to maintain a great reputation while being short staffed. I hope you will visit us again and that you will love the experience! OMG the soup is SO GOOD

It was cold, spitting rain, all we wanted was a nice hot lunch and every place in Belfast seemed to be closed. We stumbled on Daily Soup and almost didn't try it because there was no indoor seating, but we had no choice - and thank goodness we didn't leave! Both of the soups we got were incredibly good. My only regret is that we didn't have the opportunity to go back and try some of the other things we watched being prepared for other customers, it all looked super fresh and tasty! (And thanks, Chase's - even if you weren't open and we couldn't get lunch from you, we were grateful to be able to stay dry while we ate our soup under your tent.)

A small gem with big flavors

Terrific little place for top-notch hearty soups and stews, great sandwiches, their own cookies, etc. Menu varies. Never had something there that wasn’t really good. I appreciate the fact that I can get quarts of soup or stew (frozen) for dinners at home.

Great lunch

We are gluten free and I am dairy free and we easily found three soups. Small inside so to go food or some outdoor tables. Friendly employees. A nice stop for a quick small meal at good prices.

Don't Underestimate!

Wow! What a hidden gem! Nice variety of menu items, prepared fresh on the spot. Staff is friendly and helpful. We ordered a variety of salads, soups, and sandwiches. All were excellent, nothing disappointed. A solid choice!

Cold Soup and Other Mishaps

Takeout soup was cold. They gave me the last serving of soup. Went on two other occasions and mistakes were made with orders. Too expensive. Too many mistakes.

Best soup and BLT! YUM!!!

Stumbled on this tiny shop and I love soups so I had to give it a try! The BLT was the best BLT I have ever has…so good! Chicken and Escarole soup with Orrechiette was super! I will be going back!!! Yum!!!

More of a Take-Away Joint; NOT a restaurant

Wanted to try this place out, since we visit Belfast at least yearly. Easy to find west of the Main Street/High Street intersection, across from the Co-Op. Only three or four tables for two to four people on the dark side of the building. One of the fours already 'occupied' by a wi-fi squatter with no food in sight. Only one table for two inside; already occupied by friend of the establishment when we arrived. We ducked in and waited along with two other customers and looked at menu options. Cook/server was bagging up a large order collecting on the counter, awaiting a pickup, I guess. Other couple waiting ordered and we then realized that there was no bathroom (needed after the hours plus drive to get here) and really no comfortable place to sit and eat, so we did leave, regretfully. We did love what we saw on the menu and had picked out what we wanted, changing that after two items were announced as either sold out or unavailable due to delayed delivery. All good; this is a 'small batch, home cooking' kitchen, and that is all fine. So, I'd order anything and everything on the menu here but find someplace else nice to enjoy it. [I'll bet the locals have this place on their regular list of eats.] BTW, do NOT look at the ceiling fan and window spaces for confirmations of cleanliness.

Loved the lunch here - pleasant service and great food!

This is a small mostly take out place with just a few seats outside but we had a great lunch of a cauliflower chickpea curry (masala) and a very good beet salad. Reasonable, fast and tasty!

Great food locak

This was a godsend on a cold afternoon.

When we entered the door we were greeted by a warm moist atmosphere, delicious smells and the two friendly proprietors. I had the short rib soup and my partner had the Wild Mushroom. They were both full flavored and plentiful. It is a small place with two tables and most of the customers that entered took the soups as take-out. I would recommend it to anyone in any season.

A great little lunch nook

The food was amazing! Had the spicy chicken tacos and the black beans and rice! Parking is tight but the food and conversation is well worth the wait. It was excellent!!!

Great, simple, homemade, creative

This little hole-in-the-wall features an array of really lovely soups daily, with a few sandwich choices as well. Soups are clearly labeled if they are gluten free, dairy free, vegan, etc. I so appreciate the labels. Great location for a quick bite during downtown errands. In winter, there are only two tables, but the takeout business is substantial. In nice weather, there are a few outdoor tables.

Delish quick meal

Stopped on our way to Bar Harbor to check out the co-op across the street and decided to get a quick bite to eat. It was so good! Wish we had gotten some to go. They have a menu that changes daily and fresh baked bread.
