Awesome front row seat type of place

You walk in, read the overhead menus, grab a lobstah (or a few), hand them off to a cook, choose your options/sides and wait for your number to be called. There are a ton of options and different fish, clams, lobsters to choose from - whatever you do, don't skip the corn. Bigger isn't always better... read more

Absolutely no frills......bring your chips, your tablecloth, your napkins, your drinks.........and be ready to enjoy the best, freshest lobster in Maine. Pick your own lobster and enjoy it 15 minutes later.

Pick your own or let the staff pick for you. Lobster kept in huge bins with fresh bay water pumped in! There isn't much to say other than that. They drop in the water, cook 'em and you eat 'em. Warning: Outside seating at picnic tables only. I highly recommend this place. I was told they will also ship to... More

I will preface this by saying I buy live lobsters, clams, and mussels from Youngs and cook them at home. The seafood is live and cooked to order. This is not a fancy restaurant, rather a lobster shack with fresh ocean water pumped into the areas where the shellfish are held which ensures freshness. Of note, soft she'll lobsters are... More

On the way home from Bar Harbor we took the scenic route and fell upon this amazing place.Forget about lobster rolls, here you pick your own lobsters from very large tanks either soft or hard shell then they steam them for you and you feast.Huge lobsters are available if thats what you want. This is as authentic as you can get from... Young's Lobster Pound is a classic. The lobsters are wonderful, the crab rolls are very good, and the atmosphere is unpretentious, working waterfront "decor". There are picnic tables outside overlooking the harbor, and picnic tables in a big space on the second floor if it rains. You make your order, get a random number, and find a place to sit.... More

Want to eat a 3, 4 or 5 pounder on the way to Acadia National Park? Then this is the place to go. Big, basic (it is a commercial lobster trading house with big lobster tanks), the way it needs to be. Friendly staff, you can look around, watch the boats while you wait for the food to be ready.... More

Very enjoyable. So interesting to pick your own lobsters to either take home or they will cook them for you to enjoy right there. Ample tables and chairs either inside or outside. Friendly staff. Great time there. That will be the ONLY place I go for Lobster on my trips to Maine.

As it was too cold to eat outside, we enjoyed a take-out meal in our motel room: lobster and mussels - both tasted excellent. Great service – very quick, very friendly, lobster cracked already on site and packed together in a carton box with butter, mussels, corn and coleslaw for easy transport. Earlier in the season you could sit outside... More

It was a really pretty drive to Belfast and we capped it off with the Bucket at Young's. In the late afternoon we were the only ones there. As always the food was great!
