Interesting restaurant. The nachos are epic - classic satisfying pile of cheesy messy goodness. Get them with chili. The house margarita is nothing special, a little heavy on the triple sec, no tequila flavor shining through. Chicken tacos with chunks of tequila-lime grilled chicken, crisp lettuce, house made pickled Anaheim chilies, avocado and goat cheese were the stand out. Goat... More

Only tried it once, figured the burrito would give me a good comparison with almost all other Mexican restaurants I frequent in my home state. Pulled pork was mushy and almost tasteless. My husband's ground beef burrito was also not tasty. Side dish of mashed sweet potatoes with chipotle was ho-hum. Two burritos, two double drinks, and one beer -... More

OK People.... if you are in Maine, or near Maine or ever get to Maine. Stop into the village of Belfast Maine. and its a neat and great spot. But....here it is.... There is a MEXICAN/Caribbean restaurant there named La Vida... I was shocked and amazed. The menu is not a surprise and the environment is not a surprise, but... More

Great place to come for brunch. Quiet with great Reggae music flowing in the background. Try the Mexican flag with all pork... YUM! And geezum the churros with homemade coconut ice cream?? Please go here. Go now while there's still fresh delicious homemade salsa still available. GO!

My wife and I went when they first opened and chalked up the lousy experience to a new restaurant just getting their footing. The second time I went, years later, I took friends from out of town. Sorry to report that the experience was worse than the first time. Fortunately, my friends had a sense of humor and we laughed... More

the quesadilla didn't have enough cheese and my burrito had cheese that wasn't melted and the service was slow. I got a cup of coffee and never got a refill.

I have been here quite a lot and almost always have a pleasant experience. The service is usually fast and friendly and the food is fantastic most of the time.Try what is on special! I wish I could remember the names of what wowed me.One of the specials I loved was the shrimp taco!

We found this restaurant while we were walking in downtown Belfast. It wasn't quite the Mexican I know. It seemed to have a Caribbean flair. They offered coconut rice and Jamaican jerk fajitas. We ordered our meals. After a while of noticing that other tables had chips/salsa we asked if we could have some. Then we had to ask for... More

Pleasantly surprised in this seacoast town to find a pretty good representation of Mexican fare. We wanted an alternative to the ubiquitous seafood and found it in this side street bistro. This place also has a very attractive south-of-the-border atmosphere and we liked the fact that they had a good range of Mexican beers - besides the popular but rather... More

Purgatory-any place of suffering.... I have been to La Vida 4 times. The first time the food was marginal. The service OK. The second time I went was a chance for redemption. They were not redeemed. The third time I had a craving for a margarita so my wife and I took a chance. We were seated by a nice... More
