Mae's has come under new management over the years we have been coming here but the service and quality has remained pretty consistent. Very good cafe for breakfast, brunch or lunch. We have never been there in the evening for dinner. Sandwiches are very good as are salads. French toast and waffles are also excellent. Good pastries and cakes from... More

The food selection was excellent and the place is adorable. Good, quick (but not rushed) friendly service. We were glad we stumbled upon it.

We visited during Parent Weekend at Bowdoin and came on the early side on Sunday morning (9:30). We were seated immediately upstairs in a charming room that felt bright and open. The waitress was friendly and the service was prompt. I ordered an omelette with tomato, bacon and cheese - it was fine but not great - the fillings were... More

My wife and I eat here weekly. We are part of the "Meet Me At Mae's" crowd. Today I had the MAE West omelette and my wife had blueberry pancakes. My omelette was horrible. Normally I would have sent it back - still can't figure out why I didn't. The onions and peppers were raw and the ham was almost... More

Every time I’m in Bath, Maine, I must stop by Mae’s Cafe and Bakery. They have these huge gingersnap cookies, about 4-inches in diameter that are simply the best I have ever had. They are $2 a cookie. I live south about 100 miles, so I can’t just drop in a get a cookie when I want one, so I... More

We ordered our wedding cake and cupcakes from Mae's. They were incredible. Everything was beautiful. all of our guests loved them so much, they took extras to take to the hotel. They were so knowledgeable, offered lots of creativity and suggestions. We could not get offer how amazing everything was. We went there for brunch the next day. It was... More

Our group of four found this to be a great location and atmosphere, pleasant and prompt service, but rather mediocre food. The salad was large but non-descript, the pot pies were small servings, not very tasty and overall disappointing. No coffee refills were offered and they would have been accepted. Only one restroom and it was the only one open... More

We arrived cold and hungry not long before the restaurant was set to close. Our group of six was given a quiet room off to the side where we could eat and visit easily. The food was very good and warmed us up.

Wanted somewhere for a good priced breakfast and had spotted Maes the day before. Not disappointed, good cooking at realistic prices, with the added bonus that it is also a bakery serving really fine cakes and cookies.
