We've dined here several times and find the food and service consistently very good. We go early as there's often a line. One disappointment on a recent visit was being seated at a window seat by Water Street where the hot August sun was unbearable...no shades on the window...ask to be seated elsewhere unless the sun has set.

First evening of our Maine holiday, and probably the most memorable dinner out. Interesting menu (the type that would draw you back to try something else you might have missed the first time). Good service...a nice intro to local, down home eating!

Read a few other reviews and decided to try this place. Glad I did - I had the shrimp creole, and it was very good. Spicy and full of shrimp, with a stack of dirty rice to balance the heat. Toward the end of my meal I tried what I thought was a piece of toast on the side of... More

What a find, Beale Street. Meats and poultry are moist and flavorful, drinks generous, cornbread tasty, and waitstaff friendly. Beats anything I've had in the Boston area. A relaxed vibe. We look forward to returning year after year. Only wish we lived closer.

Our group consisted of 5 adults and 3 kids, aged 15, 11 and 9. Everyone loved the food! It's a casual and family friendly place. We ate lunch there around 2 in the afternoon and there were only a few other people there. Service was cheerful and quick!

We have been eating at Beale St for 16 years now and have never had a bad meal. Usually I have the pulled pork platter, but this time I treated myself to the shrimp creole, Usually I only have this dish in New Orleans, but Beale St has it down perfectly.

Firstly I'm a Baby Back Ribs fan and these are advertised at St. Louis Style..Well, I've had St. Louis style and I'm not sure what Beale Street's version might be called..They were big, tough and covered with a thick layer of pig skin that was inedible...I have never seen thick pig skin on ribs before and I've eaten a lot...
