This is the sort of place I do not enjoy. Very busy, very noisy and very large. Food okay but woefully slow. Hard benches and chairs did not help the two hours it took us to eat. Perched on the end of Bailey Island the location is pretty good but as we were there in the evening unable to see... More

Good lobster roll and halibut - great homemade onion rings! Excellent view of Bailey Island - lobster buoys everywhere. Nice low key ambiance with friendly staff.

Ate here with hubby and sat in the new bar area. Sat at the bar, which was hopping for a Friday night. I ordered the jalapeño margarita, which was way too spicy for my liking. Luckily the bartender did not mind swapping it out for a beer, Lunch (Maine brewing company) on tap, was a great substitute. We ordered hot... More

A couple of Maine brews, delicious boiled lobster, fries, and blueberry pie on the patio by the water. Food, service, ambience--all made for a wonderful, laid-back early dinner in mid-October. This was one of our favorite dinner experiences on our 9-day road trip along the beautiful Maine coast.

we went to Cooks Saturday night. With the old owners we saw it fade to below mediocre. Our second review under new ownership the first having been within a month of the new owners. It is hands down everything The owners answer to us promised it would become. The bar is cute, the place is clean , the food was... More

My very first dinner in Maine! I had the fried combination dinner that included clams, haddock, shrimp, and scallops. Everything was very good, and our server was very nice and helpful. I am withholding the 5th star only because there was nothing that set Cook's apart from other seafood restaurants.

There aren't many places to eat on Bailey's Island so we visited this restaurant again (as we have on previous trips). The food here is decent but not spectacular. I was able to get a decent-sized glass of wine and we had a couple fairly good after-dinner drinks in the bar after dinner. One thing that was upsetting was that... More

I have stayed on Bailey Island summers for most of my life. Then I moved there and lived on the island for 12 years. I am very familiar with Cooks, as it has been on Bailey Island for decades. Cooks was purchased not long ago, and the new owners did a lot of work on the place, especially the tavern/bar,... More

Recommended by a friend to visit Bailey Island, we found this place by chance and so glad we did! Great atmosphere, right on the harbor and even got to eat outside on the patio in October! Great service, great food and would definitely recommend for anyone to try! Just what we wanted to find in Maine!!

Stopped in on the way back. Very nice place right on the water. Great view of cribstone bridge. Lobster roll and stew are very good. My wife had haddock sandwiche which was nice and fresh as well. Staff very friendly and efficient. Service was quick as well. Definitely would stop and eat again.
