We dined with a group of 7 for a friends birthday. It was hands down the best food and service I’ve received at any restaurant. Macy took great care of us. She was very helpful in our dish selections. We ordered several different appetizers and...decided to split our steak, she let us get our half cooked to our liking. The combo nachos are a great choice. This was the first steak I’ve ever eaten without steak sauce. It was seasoned to perfection. The chef came out to help bring our food and say hello to us. This was top notch!!! We traveled 45 minutes. I look forward to returning!More

Have been to Cafe Joe's thrice, twice for business and once for pleasure dining. Never disappoints. Large menu inclusive of their interpretation of local staples and their own dishes. Bar choices are a bit limited, but, this is not a place to come to drink;...you come here to eat. Can't say I would intentionally drive here from Lafayette for destination dining but if you're in the neighborhood, you cannot do better. Very good service and freindly staff. Weekends are crowded so go early or expect a wait.More

Dined there on New Years Eve 2019. My husband ordered the "Seafood Pasta" for his entree and I had the Eggplant dish. We always share a little of our entrees with each other and when I took a bite of the his pasta dish I...had to spit it out. I have never tasted anything so awful in my life. Put a little bit of it on the appetizer plate and when the waiter came I told him to bring it to the chef and ask him to taste it. He did and came back a few minutes later and apologized saying " The pasta was bad" and asked if my husband wanted to order something else. He did not. We shared my Eggplant and later the waiter offered us a free desert. We were not charged for the seafood entree. Good chef's don't let an entree leave their kitchens without tasting it, obviously that didn't happen. We will not be returning to Cafe Josephine.More

We arrived on a Wednesday night early (5:30) , just ahead of the evening crowd. Cafe Josephine is getting a good reputation,so the place filled quickly. We ordered the charbroiled oysters for an appetizer. Clearly delicious. The staff is not the most professional but I...have no issues with them. I had the Big Chop ( a large thick cut pork chop with an orange reduction). It was served with creamy corn grits with seasonal veggies. I enjoyed the meal. the Big Chop was tender and cooked to perfection for me. I would go again.More

We stopped here again while travelling through Louisiana. Made 5:30 reservations, we got there a bit early and were immediately seated at 5:15. Ate a delicious dinner, and we were back on the road with our 4 children by 6:05. Perfect.

Arrived on Saturday lunch at 12/50.The place was half empty ,no one waiting ,empty tables .WE were told the kitchen was on a hold and we would be ready to be seated in 20minutes .Came back and waited another 15minutes (35 minutes in total) and...were told it would be another 30 minutes .We left in disgust never to return again .They must just have one person cooking on Saturday lunch ,the hostesses are not properly trained and you cant believe a word they tell you .More

We live 3 blocks away and have watched and experienced the evolution of Cafe J. It was good, then got better and, now, it’s the BEST! What a treasure to have this restaurant in our small town! What’s my favorite? Well...🤷🏼‍♀️ EVERYTHING!

On a day trip out of Lafayette, we stopped at Cafe Josephine based on a review of their website and menu, and we found the restaurant to be accurate to the online site. My wife had the wedge salad, me shrimp and grits - both...better than expected, so good I wanted to lick the bowl (or wished I had a piece of rustic bread served with the food). We were late arriving, but were welcomed in very close to the cutoff for lunch - the staff was very friendly and our server Bradley was attentive and obliging. Although we rarely order dessert, we tried the homemade cheesecake on recommendation, with separate drizzles for both of us - praline for my wife and raspberry for me. So good, I think we literally did lick the remnants of the drizzle cups!! A great lunch experience.More

A friend recommended this restaurant to me and I was not disappointed! I had the seafood platter, fried....and the shrimp, the stuffed shrimp and the fish...were the best I have had in Acadiana, as far back as I can remember! They were perfection! The seafood...gumbo that came with the platter was very good...as was the crab cake and the "seafood rice.". I am not one for bacon-wrapped anything, and the platter had two, jumbo shrimp, wrapped in bacon, but my server assured me that when I came back, a substitute could be made! Great service, too! Good selection of wines and other beverages. I was satisfied after one half of my meal, and took the other half home for today's lunch! A wonderful dining experience. A bit pricey, but so delicious!!!More

This out of the way Restaurant in Sunset, Louisiana is a true hidden gem. Everything I have tried there has been above my expectation. It starts with mini biscuits that could be addictive
