We are blessed in this area to be able to have access to the freshest and best seafood. Kenny’s is the place to enjoy some.
Recently renovated to cater to the seafood market on one side of the facility or dine in/take out on the other. Visitors from outside the area often cart home ice chests of shrimp, crab, oysters or local fish since our prices are so affordable and the quality superb. Kenny’s will also pack and ice your purchases in styrofoam coolers.
This local spot also has gumbo, poor boys, platters, and boiled seafood available on the dine-in menu. Fancy? No! Come in your shorts or blue jeans, roll up your sleeves, and have a good meal. We love this place.

Went here on the recommendation of a friend. Best results ever! This place is not fancy; it's divided into two areas, a dining area, and a seafood market. You order, either for take out or dine in, and if dine in the food is brought out to you (If you order the platter of crawfish, that is ordered on the seafood market side), Regardless of what you are eating, it's really great food, and plenty of it. I had the soft shell crab platter, corn and crab bisque, and bouidin balls. My friend had the shrimp platter, with bisque, and coleslaw. We both agreed, it was plenty, and had difficulty finishing it all. Later we had (for lunch) the shrimp Po'boys, (mine dressed) and again, more shrimp than could possibly stay in the roll. This place is easy to find, but on a busy corner, and there is somewhat limited parking. Still, it's well worth going, and, as I said, go hungry!

This place is a gem! If you enjoy seafood, I would highly recommend visiting! I ordered the fried soft shell crab with French fries and a salad and my husband ordered the fried trout with jambalaya and potato salad. The portions were very large! The seafood was fresh and honestly some of the best I’ve had in a very long time. We will definitely be visiting again when in the area.

The menu presentation was great the food looked great, but the texture was horrible. I had regular and sweet potato fries which were under cooked and soggy. My trout fillet still had bones in it so I had to tread lightly. The complementary Empanada was soggy and fragile to even pick up and hold. I also had the fried trout which was not very great either. The price all together was $37, this was a complete waste of a lunch break, my time, and my money! I will not be returning.

I had a recommendation to visit this Place. After arriving in Slidell, we drove to the Restaurant and after finding a parking spot we went inside. Looked at the Menu Board and saw that the menu was extensive. I ordered the special of the day Red Beans and Rice and Fried Catfish. My wife ordered the Seafood Platter that had Fried Catfish, Fried Oysters, Fried Whole Clam, Sweet Potato Fries and Jambalaya. Restaurant has limited seating and we found a table to sit down. Food arrived and everything was hot. fresh and delicious. Will definitely return if I'm in the area.

Recommended by Cajun Encounters this fish market was packed with people mostly locals. That’s an excellent sign. Unbelievable fresh fish in a variety of styles including a crawfish boil. This market/restaurant was heavily damaged during Hurricane Katrina and the redone restaurant is a must see to understand the impact.

My husband and I stopped to have lunch before we drive to Texas. I wanted to try the crawfish boil, this would be my 1st time but I was told it was out of season. Since I really wanted to try some seafood we ordered seafood platter with fries and coleslaw. We told the girl who took our order that this was my 1st time trying seafood. Boy! I was soo disappointed. The fries and some stuffed Pattie were very cold. How do you serve cold fries??? This was Saturday 11/25/2023 around 11:45am. My husband and I tried to tell the lady who was taking orders at the front but all she said was “ I can take the platter back and have then make it again” but we declined and just asked if they can just give us fresh fries since we had ate some of the food, She went and never came back nor we never got the fries as we had requested. The fries they gave us were not even warm, they were cold, cold! So no I will not recommend.

We really loved this place! We went for lunch on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. My husband had the oysters, not only were they very inexpensive, but very fresh and delicious. I had the Crawfish Etouffee with Potato Salad and it was very good, the potato salad slightly spicy but I really liked it (sounds like an odd combination of Etouffee and Potato salad, but it works)! We went next door and bought very fresh shrimp and an incredibly reasonable price, much less then in New Orleans, we had them for dinner and they were wonderful. Not only was I impressed with the prices and freshness of the seafood, but the young man helping us was beyond friendly and polite.

An hour later and I'm still trying to get the salt off of my tongue. Worst seafood my family has had anywhere. Especially in the New Orleans area where there are so many great places to eat, you should avoid this place at all costs.
Shrimp were tasteless except for every third one which made your tongue feel and tasteless like someone pored a shaker of salt in your mouth. Craw fish were inedible bone dry lumps of clay. Soft shell crabs were indeed soft, but there was a foul almost rotten taste to them. Jambalaya was a disaster of dried rice sprinkled with sparse unrecognizable dessicated bits of what may have been meat. Oysters were edible but lacked flavor. At least the fried fish portions were passably neutral flavored. For a better dinner, go to your ocal grocer and pick up a box of frozen food. It will have to be better.
Several party members passed samples of their selections around to make sure food really was as bad as it seemed. Nobody finished their dinners. What happened to this place which used to be so great?
Don't waste your time or money or taste buds here. Life is too short.

We have been going to Kenney's for many years now. (Manager) Neal is AMAZING!!! He always goes to extra lengths to make sure our shrimp, oysters, fish...anything we buy really, is packed perfectly, to make the journey back home to NW Ohio!! Neal is a HUGE asset to Kenney's!

A few months back the service was so bad our food came out cold. Told them and just saw a deer in the headlight look. Finally, decided to go back today and I got my food fast, but my husband's order got lost. If someone would come out in management to apologize it would be one thing. Started to cancel his order and leave. The sad thing is people 3 orders past us got theirs before us.

I see there are some negative reviews on the food and service here, but from my personal experience there has been nothing, but the opposite. The seafood is the best in the Slidell area next to another restaurant called VERA'S. Hope this helps.

We had three shrimp dinners, Gumbo, Cole slaw, crab corn bisque, boudin balls, and jambalaya. It was all very good. The restaurant also has a seafood market next to it, but we did not buy any to take home.

This was my second time to eat at this restaurant. The place is pretty cool! Great food too! I had a dozen raw oysters! They were excellent! I also had the boiled shrimp with gumbo and jambalaya for my sides! What a delicious meal! I will definitely go for a third time in the future.
