Was brought here by fellow instructors while in Slidell. Our group was taken care of by Savanah and she could not have been nicer. A large selection of prepared seafood from the menu we all got our orders in and were quickly served our drinks....Everyone was happy with the appetizers and the entrees that they ordered. We as a group said that we would be coming back.More

Today I have to give them a 3 star because of the food. Food: The pasta dish with the catfish and shrimp was conflicting. The fish and the shrimp was tasty, seasoned really well, but the pasta was not pleasant tasting. It had no taste,...kinda watered down taste. This will not get ordered again. I love their chargrilled oysters, but today they were almost burnt. Not buttery but they gave extra bread that was drenched in butter so it made the bread a little cold. Server was nice, friendly young lady and very attentive The gumbo needed some file' maybe..something was missing, can't put my finger on it.More

As I write this I am looking forward to my next trip because this place is a hidden gem. We were greeted by a very charming and enthusiastic hostess who lead us to our table and then we were greeted by our cheerful waitress. We...had a few questions about the menu and she was spot on with her answers. My fried flounder with a shrimp and crabmeat cream sauce was done to perfection and served piping hot. The flavors were magnificent as the sauce complimented the flounder it was on. My wife got the crabmeat au gratin and plans to get again. It was rich and creamy with the right mixture of cheeses and baked until it was bubbling hot. Not much of it was left and it ended up being reheated and eaten with my leftover fish. We will definitely be going back and we will eventually try the Vera's over in Abita Springs.More

I had the Flounder special with jumbalaya, it was really good. For desert I had the bread pudding, super good. I would eat here again if ever in the area again. Our waitress Savanna was super nice and very good at her job.

There hasn't been another soup as good as the soup at Veras. This one is Broccoli and Crabmeat, but there is a variety of soups that are all amazing. My husband likes the tiasted french bread with his soup.

First thing i noticed was that Vera's is a VERY clean restaurant. From front to back. My server seated me immediately. I asked for sweet tea. And then i took a tour of the restroom. It was immaculate. She suggested some appetizers but i was...in the mood for a salad. She made me a chicken Cesar salad to die for. I asked for extra croutons and she actually gave me 33 more croutons. Mmmmm. The ice tea was obviously sun brewed with REAL sugar. Not that cancer causing syrup they serve at Middendorfs. I am so happy to see that there are still establishments That serve food like they are from Nawlins Dahlins. The salad filled me up so much that my waitress had to pack my Seafood Platter. She gave me a to go cup with pleanty of ice. Like we love it in the south. She gave me tartar and cocktail sauce with napkins and silverware without me even having to ask. Shirly is a wonderful server. I tipped her and the cooks 20 per cent each. I will be bringing my whole family here for my moms 93rd. Birthday on the 28th. Shirley said we can bring our own cake and will NEVER be charged 2.50 per person to eat our own cake like at Middendorfs. I had such a good time. Waitress wonderful. Food perfect. Restroooms beautiful. You want Seafood come here. You want an art/ant crawl go to Middendorfs.More
