This was a very authentic experience. I had the fricase de pollo with white rice/black beans/maduros (sweet plantains) and a mojito. I planned to take half with me because this was my first meal of the day and it was 5pm. However, when I started eating I realized that someone's grandpa took a lot of time to make this. Ok,... Always looking for good Cuban food and found itin Slidell! Que Rico made the best Cuban Sandwich we have had outside of Tampa. The bread was crisp and flakey and the pork was fantastic with thinly sliced Grilled onions. It came with plantains black beans and white rice. Potions were large too . We will stop Again!!!!

We both enjoyed our lunch here. My husband had the cuban sandwich and I opted for the roast pork with the beans and rice. He enjoyed his cuban and he agreed that my meat and sides were delicious as well as I shared some with him. Restaurant was nice and clean and service was fine.

I have been here on more than one occasion at the same time as world renown chef John Besh. If John thinks it is good enough to go often, then you know it's good. I love the tamales. The folks are very friendly and the quality is always high.

Been to a lot of Cuban eateries and enjoyed many meals at friend's homes and this location is like eating at someone's home. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the menu has many family favorites. The meal comes hot and has plenty to offer. The black beans were cooked to perfection, the fried plantains sweet and tasty, the cabbage... More

Oh my God! I have made it to the pearly gates! Perfectly seasoned food served in a beautiful atmosphere by cheerful family. We had the steak platter and the "old clothes"...to die for. The best black beans worldwide! And REAL tres leches! Everything was flavorful and rich. Everyone was polite and helpful as we planned our next visit. Cannot wait!

Que Rico is consistently great food. My favorite is the Cuban sandwich or the Cubano Noche. It is on a sweeter bread. The coffee is great. Service friendly. Decor cute!

I am slowly learning to not submit a review after only one visit to a restaurant, so this review comes after my third visit. For first timers, I recommend the Lechon Asado plate, which is to die for. I ordered the tamale plate today, which is topped with lechon asado (roast pork). The tamale does not need a corn husk... More
