We caught the St Charles Streetcar to the cafe, very easy to get to. The staff were all locals & warmly welcomed us into their kitchen & diner. We had a lovely waiter who was prompt and quick to serve us. We were able to watch the chefs cook in front of us & interact with them. The food was... More

Camellia Cafe is not fancy by any means, but it is quite good. Their standout dish to me was their homemade sweet potato fries, although their "frips" - homemade potato chips - were also excellent. I wasn't that impressed with my chicken Caesar wrap, which is why I reduced a star, but my friends seemed satisfied with their meals as... More

Live within walking distance but never tried this place until last week. Wanted something close by because delivery pizza and Chinese was getting old. Was pleasantly surprised. We ordered a roast beef poboy and a fish croissant. Food was very good and portion size was great. Will definitely return, but this time not as a last choice.

This is our favorite breakfast stop in Slidell. Biscuits and Gravy and French Toast are what we go for. Enjoyable place to dine.

Recently I took a trip to Louisiana for the first time. My friend and I were staying at a B&B nearby and this cafe was recommended to us strongly. So we popped in for our first taste of LA seafood. I have to say, we were VERY impressed! The decor was adorable and easily set the mood, the menu was... More

We ate here after doing the Honey Island Swamp Tour which I highly recommend. I'd checked out our lunch options online in advance as the tour finished just before 1pm. We drove into the nearby town of Slidell and to the Camellia Café. The area is known for its seafood - since New Orleans is on the coast and Slidell... More

The food was well seasoned and plenty of it. Our waitress was very friendly she made sure we were well taken care of. We will be sure to go back again.

Traveling along the gulf, and we wanted to eat a little seafood while in the area Thought I had seen a review of this place somewhere, so we took a chance. First of all, the service was wonderful, some of the best we have ever received. Hubby got the seafood plate, and couldn't finish it, there was such an array... More

Used to be great, but somewhere along the road to success this restaurant lost its way. Quality & consistency in preparation is no longer a given. Sometimes with just few people in the place it might take 15 minutes to get waited on. Loved the restaurant at one time, but don't even consider it anymore...
