A nice sunset as I rolled into dinner at Southside Cafe here in Slidell, LA. My order is a small appetizer onion strings w/ house sauce, blackened yellow fin tuna w/ mac & cheese and vegetable beef soup for my sides. It was all very...tasty and I would definitely come back here again if I was in the area.More

Had take out on August 5, brunch on August 7, and takeout on August 13. You are just not gong to beat the food and bar at this place. Great hot sausage po-boys and one of the best Sunday Brunches anywhere. The reason that I...gave a 4 this time is that on Saturday August 13, someone had a dog in the restaurant and it was not a service dog. I know that this may be a political correct issue, but I just don't think dogs belong in a restaurant. Still, I highly recommend Southside and I'll probably be back this Friday night.More

I live out of state and needed to send a fair size condolence tray to my relatives that are local. I believe Mike that worked with me is either the manager or owner because even though he was on vacation he went above and beyond...to help me. He had Chef Jimmy prepare all the foods for us and kept in touch all the way. The food was ready on time and was absolutely awesome. These folks are the best in the business. Thanks!More

Despite the fact is well known and recognized place, food os average, menu is creative but nothing out of the world. Very crowded and a large bar plenty of senior people. Not very clean and noise.

Great local place definitely worth checking out. My first time visit was a very good experience. Gabby was a great server. The seafood gumbo and the Bonfouca French dip sandwich were delicious.

Had brunch on 5/22. Country Fried Steak and Eggs are some of the best anywhere. Good grits and white gravy. Instead of a Bloody Mary, try a Bloody Maria for a good pick me up. Friendly servers and good service. Also, we have had takeout...several times in last few months. It's excellent, that's why we keep coming back!!!More

Summary -- Good food, staff needs a little more training Details -- Went here after taking a swamp tour based on great reviews. Facility is very clean and welcoming. We were promptly sat but our waitress was not well versed in their advertised specials (which...there were a lot) but had solid serving skills. I orders a mixed po' boy and it was delicious. All of the shrimp and oysters were large and flavorful. It was NOT cheap fried seafood for sure. If you're in the area its worth a stop and its very apparent that the locals love it!More

The food was ok, it was cooked almost all of it, a few hush puppies was not cooked all the way. This is a very loud place! We got seafood and it was ok I guess but I like a lot of seasoning and this...just all tasted the same.More

There were very few places open to eat on a Sunday afternoon after New Year, so we stopped in for a bite at Southside Cafe. The food was mediocre, but 1/2 our group’s order arrived 15 minutes before the rest of us. They were finished...eating by the time we were served. In addition, our table sat facing a giant “Don’t Tread on Me” flag and I listened to the unmasked lady at the table next to ours brag that she had a party of 120 people over for the holidays and that several of them had already tested positive for COVID. The guy next to her laughed and fake sneezed on his buddy across the table. None of the patrons or employees wore masks at any point while transmission numbers in Louisiana top the country.More

Not quite sure which bridge you are speaking of. However the restaurant is in Slidell. I stated at the Hampton Inn just off the interstate. It is a mile or so west of the Hampton Inn. You will turn left at the last red light... More
