Have visited this place for years, all locations. Used to have sweet, nice servers, not any more. Used to have a vast menu, with lots of great choices. Used to be a great place, not so much any more.
Small servings...food had no seasoning and was cold...please get a new cook. Tablespoon salad dumped on plate with food and dressing running everywhere.
We have breakfast here every Sunday before we go to church. It’s always awesome!! Lonnie’s omelets are the best, slong with hash browns, grits, toast and coffee. It’s just the best!!
Rude waitress!! Carrying drinks by the lip area of drink. The manager equally as rude. I would never recommend this place!
Looking for something other than a chain for breakfast. Strawn's is on Yulee right near 70th Street, so very convenient. I ordered up a typical breakfast, eggs, ham, hash browns (they of course have grits) and biscuits. Everything was promptly prepared and as home made...as could be. Eggs cooked right, ham nicely seared and honest to God home made hashbrowns (well actually fried potatoes). Biscuits were hot and fluffy. Way better than my ex-mother in law from Mississippi used to make. Service with a smile and very friendly staff. I was informed that everything, right down to the pie crust is homemade and I believe it. Will certainly return on another visit.More
I had chicken fried steak. They brought out one that was precooked and cold. My vegetables were cold as well...that’s about 3 times my food was cold. They need a new cook..food is just not up to par as it used to be.
The food was good. The chocolate pie looked great but we were too full to order dessert. Next time we will share a meal and order dessert.
Great food. Very "country" homestyle. I had meatloaf and husband had chicken fried stead. Both were very good. Mashed potatoes were delicious. So many different choices for sides. Didn't like the fried okra as the batter was too heavy. PIE!!!! We took a slice of...coconut and chocolate back to the hotel for later. I had to make myself stop eating the chocolate in order not to eat all of it and be sick. It's one of the best I've ever had. Even the crust was delicious. Husband ate coconut and he could not eat all of his. Definitely a place we would love to return to. Friendly people and very good service.More
Had chicken and dumplings. The had no chicken, the dumplings were large balls of dough rather than cut pieces as the should be. Very dry and way over salted.
