Once again, ordered the tamale platter. It was good, but not as spicy as in the recent past. If this is the new norm, will have to come up with a new favorite. On the positive side, service was very good.

Most of the El Chico restaurants in the Shreveport and Bossier area have closed. This one is still in business and seems to be putting some serious $ into renovations. They have added a patio with heaters for the cold weather and totally redone the bar area. I went when I had a coupon they sent to me for a... More

Yes, hopefully, it had to be better than our last visit, and fortunately, it was. The restaurant was not crowded, unlike last time, and service and food were good. Think my new favorite is the tamale platter.

Got a text offering a BOGO on entrees. Apparently, a lot of people got the same text. Restaurant was, as you might guess, very crowded. The manager never would have guessed as the store appeared to be staffed for a slow Monday night. Our server did a great job. By that, I do not mean that we had good service,... More

Service was very good, as usual. Food was bland. Nothing wrong, just not as flavorful as I have enjoyed in the past. Due to a change in kitchen personnel, perhaps. Maybe an attempt to appeal to people that can not eat or do not prefer more highly seasoned foods.

The food was terrific and our waitress was the best! The place was totally packed with the usual Sunday church crowd yest our waitress was always there when we needed anything.

Enchiladas, were a little bland. Rice and beans were the standard fare. Service was better than acceptable, but nothing to get excited about. Based on previous visits, this experience did not meet expectations. Hopefully it was just an off night.

"Back in the day", El Chico in Shreveport/Bossier was the place to go for Tex-Mex. I dined at every one of their locations during the 80s and 90s and always had a good experience. After recently returning to the Shreveport area, I was sad to see that most locations had closed their doors. We decided to give the Bert Kouns... More

Service was very good, and the food wasn't bad, either. Actually, the food was good, not outstanding; your average chain Tex-Mex. Nothing wrong with that, but it was the service that made the experience so enjoyable.

Great food and great service. Usually get the make your self burrito, but tonight I got the Rodeo Combo. Which was very good. A lot of food. And double margaritas didn't hurt in the least.
