All reviews pulled pork ribs stuffed baked potato potatoes meat platter seafood meatloaf club sandwich dirty rice salad étouffée hush puppies baton rouge order at the counter regular stop two sides local place
$31.03 (cash/there is a surcharge for credit cards) bought a smoked meatloaf dinner with sides of green beans and mashed potatoes, a half dozen wings with fried okra and mac 'n cheese, a side of (8) hush puppies, and two refillable soft drinks. The lightly...smoked wings, meatloaf and hush puppies stood out, and we would order them again. Alas, the other sides were not the stuff of which memories are made.
Friendly staff, and good virus protocols in place.More
This place is amazing. The staff is very friendly and did I mention the food is amazing? I recommend the crawfish etouffee over the baked potato. Pro tip: Add some of the special seasoning. Delicious! The barbecue club sandwich is good, too!
Lines and lines and lines of take out don't lie. A food truck at LSU that sells out, doesn't lie. Locals love this place. Best BBQ? Not really. Good BBQ and heaping portions? ABSOLUTELY. They work hard at trying to Covid-measure, cleaning in between tables...and enforcing mask/distancing. You order at the counter and take a seat. I didn't like their stuffing/dirty rice thingy side dish, but the ribs were delicious and my son't super loaded baked potato with fried shrimp is the BIGGEST potato I have ever seen. My tiger, who is a healthy eater, barely made it! Its a TOTAL DIVE in honky-town USA. Lots of smiles and hardworking people. A lot of food for your buck!More
Food was not good at all. Me and my husband completely agreed and he eats pretty much everything!
Tarter sauce is awful!! Couldn't hardly eat the food...took a few bites then left. The mac n cheese tasted like the mac n cheese from Wal-Mart or...Super 1 Foods, which I like, BUT it should not be served at a restaurant..... very disappointed that it wasn't home made. Do not recommend and definitely won't return. Very nasty food and atmosphere!! Avoid at all costs!! Try McDonald's instead 🤢🤮
ALSO apparently the "owner" is a true prize!!
DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!
If interested read company's review I put on Google and read his response....horrible way to run a business!More
This was our 2nd visit to Couyons. Ate there last Nov. on our way to Texas. Another great meal! We ordered a couple of meat platters to share among 5 of us. We enjoyed everything - meats & sides. Probably my favorite thing still is...the Sausage, although Ribs & Brisket are very good as well. My wife & I have a BBQ catering business + compete on the BBQ trail. We can certainly be critical sometimeswhen we eat at BBQ restaurants, but both of our visits have been very good! Service has always excellent as well! This is a must stop while in the Baton Rouge area.More
At the receommendation of a hotel clerk we dined at Cou-yon's. What a great treat this was. If I could give a restaurant a 6 star review, this would be it. The menu is extensive with Appetizers, Salads, BBQ Plates, Seafood Platters, Étouffée, Speacialty Plates...and Specialty Sandwiches. I chose the Two Meat Plate (Pulled Pork & Sausage) with Two Sides (Corn on the Cob & Red Skin Potato Salad) that was the best restaurant meal I've had in a very long time. Everything was just delicious and prepared just right. My wife chose the Petite Moist Brisket with a side of Baked Macaroni that she enjoyed tremendously. The staff are all very professional, helpful, polite and courteous. I higly recommend You-Yon's BBQ. I hope you find this review helpful in making your next dining plans.More
