This is one of our favourite restaurants in the area. The food is delicious, the staff have fabulous people skills, and they would fit in at any high-end hospitality establishments. We were there yesterday at lunchtime, and CJ, our first server, who was very efficient and...pleasant, took our drinks order. Later, Shauna, our food server, who is probably one of the most outstanding people in this restaurant we have ever met, took our orders, with great aplomb, an amazing young lady. Then we relaxed and enjoyed the ambiance. A short while later, Shauna came over and apologised that there was a slight delay because of a glitch in the kitchen, and our food would take another 10 minutes. We were then offered on the house portions of garlic bread and any drink. We have never previously experienced such considerable service . Alison, the assistant manager, also came over and apologised for the delay, and if that wasn't enough, we were given a gold V I P discount card for future use to get 10% off food orders. Thank you, too, all. Fantastic food Fantastic staff Fantastic chefs All in a perfect setting.More

A fabulous restaurant. Beautiful decor. Whilst waiting to be seated we took a table in the bar and the bar staff came and took our drinks order. The food was excellent and we could not fault our server, Shauna, who was extremely efficient. Great ambience...and atmosphere. We would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.More

I wanted to let you know that our recent dining experience with you was fantastic! The food was outstanding and the service was top-notch. One particular team member, Alysha, really stood out with her exceptional service and attention to detail. She not only took great...care of us throughout the meal, but also informed us about all the exciting offers and special events that your organization offers. Alysha is a true asset to your team and we look forward to dining with you again.More

We used to be regulars at the Thatch and Thistle (used to really like the Lamb Shank, and the atmosphere). Then it changed management, and name to The Cherry Tree. A lunch over a decade or so ago was disappointing, so we stopped going. We...heard about the linkup with the Yew Tree, which did not help. The Yew Tree had once refused to serve us in walkering gear, on my birthday, despite a virtually empty restaurant. Not sure if it was the Henshaws. A close friend recently had a great meal at the Cherry Tree, so we thought we would give it another chance. Clear that a lot of money has been spent (well) upgrading. Great atmosphere. Staff young and inexperienced. Lacked a Maitre d / head waiter. Food very good (from set price menu, "not valid on bank holidays, despite it being a bank holiday - actually set menu was actuslly more tempting than a la carte). Rather late taking drinks order, then forgot to serve me my beer, which was left on the bar for a few mins. A dropped glass and then a dropped tray. A bit Faulty Towers, which actually added to the charm.More

Tonight was our first visit to The Cherry Tree and it won’t be the last. We’ve just had an amazing meal. The staff went above and beyond, and our waitress Deb was amazing. We were made to feel so special (10 year anniversary) and all...the staff were very attentive. The food was delicious, the service was brilliant and the restaurant itself is very nice indeed. 10/10 we’ll be back for sure. Special thanks to Deb again, a true credit to the Cherry Tree.More

Myself & my cousin, who is visiting from North Carolina went for a Friday lunch. We hadn’t booked & it was pretty quiet when we arrived but it soon filled up & the atmosphere was great. We opted for the sharing platter which consisted of...a bacon Caesar salad, two little cups of soup, fish goujons, chipolata sausages, chunky fries & chicken wraps with a little scone with jam & clotted cream & and chocolate brownie each to finish it off. And on the recommendation of our very friendly & informative waitress Shauna we tried the home made garlic bread. Half tomato & chilli & half mozzarella, which was absolutely delicious. There was more than enough food for the two of us & we had to get the garlic bread boxed up to take home as we couldn’t finish it. Shauna was really helpful & gave us lots of information about upcoming events as well as other dishes on the menu that she recommended. I hadn’t been to the Cherry Tree in a while but I won’t leave it so long next time. We’ll definitely be back.More

Probably my favourite local restaurant. Prices are above average but I think overall it is good value. The interior is tasteful and bright without trying to hard to be trendy and pretentious. The service has always been impeccable without being overbearing. The food is always...fantastic and in particular the Sunday roast is fantastic value although I wish they gave us a few more potatoes. Probably been over 10 times and I'm on the waiting list for Xmas day (tells you how popular it is). Love this place.More

I love this place, have never had a bad meal, and today was no exception, we decided on the market menu, for starter my husband had the pate, and I chose the chicken broth, it was very good with lots of pieces of chicken and...the pate was a delight, we then had fish and chips. grilled haddock, and sausage and mash, also very good. Desserts were cherry bakewell tart and ice cream, sticky toffee pudding and my grand aughter chose white chocolate ice cream, all empty plates, we were served by the lovely Shauna, who could do enough for us. All in all, we will be back sooner rather than later. Thank you Cherry Tree and Shauna for a lovely lunch.More
