Then the bottom falls out. Was there for breakfast. Service was ok. They had no eggs. Lol but seriously. This place has a good reputation but sometimes change, and this one has and not for the best!

Very nice atmosphere, large varied menu, specializing in Cajun and French Creole meals. Large servings, great table service, friendly staff, reasonable prices for a sit-down casual restaurant. Reservations not required as dining rooms are quite large and comfortable. Overal great food.

Skip the food at this once great cafe. The original owners have sold and the new cooks can't boil water. Well, maybe they can because the coffee is still good. Breakfast was horrible. The grits were inedible. The service was horrible. Ate supper and the liver and onions had can gravy. Are you kidding me? What a ruin to a... More

The seafood platter was awesome, perfectly fried and seasoned. The staff was friendly and the place had a home town feel to it. Nothing fancy in the building or menu but good food and service.

Go here for a real taste of Louisiana breakfast. It's great value so you can lots of things. Try the biscuit with sausage cream gravy.

The first time I went with a friend on a rainy evening. It was us and only one other patron in the restaurant. I had the chicken and sausage gumbo. It was a bit overpriced considering the small portion that was served. The restaurant looks like a typical diner in desperate need of a makeover- outdated décor, dingy floors, filthy... More

Basically paid for a $10 pile of lettuce with cold shredded dark meat chicken.. No cheese? No tomatos or cucumber? Just lettuce, boiled egg, fried chicken, and pickles!! Unbelievable that they charge so much for so little! Very disappointed!

If you travel from or to Houston from or to Baton Rouge and New Orleans on Highway 190 you should stop here. Its on Hwy 190 in Opelousas and next to the famous Jim Bowie Oak Tree. We have been eating there for 40 years. Food is consistently delicious.

You couldn't find a more welcoming, down-home place than this if you looked for years. The food though - or at least some of the breakfast food - leaves a bit to be desired. The pancakes are greasy and the pork chops are tough. However, the biscuits are great and the grits are good. The highlight of the place is... More

Lots to listen to, with good Cajun accents. Where can you get a special of 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, and 2 sausage for $2.99? Don't miss if you are in Opelousas.

Thank Dave C
