I love to come here there food is always good at lunch and dinner. I enjoy the fresh raw oysters, have always received good service but the last five vists I have had poor, slow service. I do not what is going on but when I go out to eat I do not want it to be a 3 hour... More

Yes it may need renovations, and the bathroom is one step from the parking lot, but this place knows how to do seafood. The oysters are the best around anywhere! Creamy and smooth. This past trip I had the shrimp Po Boy and it did not disappoint! Service is also excellent. Ive eaten here on trips south for 10 years.... More

Although I had heard of this place and driven by it many times on business trips I finally had a business lunch here and the food and service were quite good. Very dark inside (ok, so it is a tavern), apparently a long time Monroe watering hole. Would definitely go back.

Though its old and outdated, the food is still delicious. We eat here at least monthly. Soooo good. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed

The Mohawk has been in business for at least fifty years, maybe more. When you first walk in, you know you are welcome. To your left stand 2 or 3 men shucking fresh oysters from the Gulf. They're going to greet you with a big smile, and if the wait is long, you might enjoy a little oyster shucking contest... More

Seems like it's been there forever, but always good! Fried shrimp and shrimp delight salad are my standbys. Comfortable and casual.

A favorite hole in the wall seafood restaurant. Food is really good, especially the Shrimp Delight Salad and fried shrimp. Service can be a little on the slow side at times.

Tavern is right. This is a bar that serves food. Seafood overwhelmingly and raw bar stuff especially. I got the seasonally priced $10.99 priced Oyster Po Boy. Bread was good. Oysters were barely warm...got there at 11:10...they open at 11...oysters also tasted less oysterish and more fried corn meal/hush puppyish. Like hushpuppies with some oyster flavoring sprinkled on them. Also...onion... More

The Mohawk has been a favorite of mine since highschool. The waiters in their white jackets brings back childhood memories. A great cozy place for visiting with friends or a date night with your special significant other

My wife and I eat at the Mohawk 2-3 times a month. The food is always good; seafood, steaks, salads and fried chicken (as good as any you'll find anywhere). Did I mention service? The waiters are outstanding! Ask for Lee or Bubba, you'll be glad you did! I've been eating at the Mohawk since the '70s and never been... More
