Today the wife an I dropped into Ray's and ordered a Roast Beef Po Boy. At noon it was packed. People were enjoying themselves. A very filling meal. Along with their Po Boys, they have plate lunches. Today they had Beef Tips and Rice, Chicken Fried steak, Chicken Fried Chicken with 2 sides and a drink included. Being in the... More

This local favorite serves a good old fashioned hamburger. The place is small and not updated on the atmosphere, but one of the best hamburgers in the area!

Been eating at Ray's for years. Great food, always filling. You hungry, you will get a great sandwich here, great fries. Homemade Ice Cream. When you are hot during the summer, you will cool off with one of their cones. Never a letdown

On our annual driving trip to Naperville, Illinois, we dropped my mother off in Dry Prong and drove on up to Monroe to spend the night just so we could eat at Ray's PE GE. I have been eating their for 50 years since my days at NLU. It has yet to change or disappoint. I love the Roast Beef... More

During a business trip to Monroe LA, we came here for lunch and had their Po' Boy sandwiches. These were outstanding, the gravy was to die for and the fries were terrific. The place is old-fashioned and doesn't look like it's been updated since the 1950's but, frankly, you're not here for the ambiance. You're here for the food. Come... More

I think that the food at Ray's is as good as it's always been. They really do have good poboys and burgers. That being said, I prefer to eat it at home. The building needs updating and a good cleaning. I know it's old but old can be clean. When I moved to Monroe in 1975, the first place someone... More

Since 1973 I have been a huge supporter of Ray's Pe Ge food. I have taken out of town guests there specifically for the food and ice cream. There was none better. Recently, I have been concerned with the entire place from the counter service being more concerned about their personal business than the customer and their orders to the... More

Authentic Louisiana Po Boys on fresh baked French bread. Roast beef or ham, with brown gravy and "real" French fries. This is the best and takes you back to your Louisiana child hood. The place is small and an older building but the taste is the same great food every time. Their burgers are good and their breakfast is good.

Since our visit to Ray's PeGe, I've promised myself the treat of tackling this review. Ray's is GOOD. I mean the "smothered in lots of gravy" greasy-spoon-diner kind of good. I had the hot roast beef (open faced) sandwich with french fries, which is apparently one of their specialties. (Their menu is mostly sandwiches, with a few plates.) Okay, now... More
