Fun and Delicious place to eat

Waterfront Grill has been a favorite of my husband's for over 20 years when he was traveling for business. He has taken me there twice now, and I can see why he has always enjoyed it. The service staff is extremely friendly and the drinks and food are served in a very timely manner. The scenery is so calming and peaceful as we overlooked the Bayou DeSiard, trees, and wildlife as we dined. As neither of us were hungry for a full dinner, my husband ordered gumbo and rice and beans. I ordered their shrimp rahkee, appetizer size, and it was delicious. My husband's items were a bit too spicy for his taste, but other than that, all was delicious. We will definitely return.

Great view, Food and Service

We are on way home from Florida. Overnight in Monroe. Saw this place on TA with deservedly Excellent reviews. We arrived about 6 sat outside on Bayou. Quiet and beautiful. Server was Delton he is Excellent. We split the double Pork chops very favorful w Sweet Potato and steamed Veggies. Got a delicious Bread Pudd9w Bourbon sauce to go. Nice sunset view from our table. When lights came on 6 to 7 Turtles and a Gar entertainment.

Must Visit In Monroe! A++++ Food & Service

I dropped my son off at college and we ate at the Waterfront Grill for dinner. Wow, this was a fantastic stop to make in Monroe. We sat on the patio and watched the sunset as we enjoyed fantastic Red Fish and Pork Chops. After dinner the two variations of bread pudding were stellar. This is a family owned business where the service was just as fantastic as the food. If you are in the area you must stop here. Bart and his team did a great job making a first impression and we will definitely be back soon. P.S. as a family owned business they are strong supporters of the University and their students. Stop by and support them knowing they give back to their community as well. A++++++

Mixed Results

We went to Waterfront Grill to celebrate two family Birthdays, and left with mixed feelings about going back again. The prices are fairly high which set an expectation of excellence, which was satisfied in some cases and badly missed the mark in others. The positives included the appetizer tray with BBQ Shrimp, Crab Cakes and Chips and dip. Everything on this tray was great, as were the steaks ordered by several in our party. Service was good, as well. On the downside, my wife’s chicken breast was badly overcooked and cold when served. My Redfish was also overdone, dry and lukewarm. Considering how long we waited to get the entrees after finishing the appetizers, asking to have these two dishes replaced just wasn’t practical. We’ll likely look elsewhere next year.

Fine dining in a casual setting!

Not a whole lot new I can put in this review, because the ones preceding mine tell the essentials. Family run, great homey atmosphere, super-high quality food, and excellent table service. We were here for a late dinner after 10 hours of road time. We got right in and sat right down, despite the fact that it was still crowded at 7 or so. Charles was our waiter, and he did a great job explaining the dishes, making recommendations, and delivering the meal. Very courteous and knowledgeable. We started with a cup of gumbo, which was unique and wonderfully flavorful. I had the grilled pork chops, which were amazing, especially since I got the mushroom & onion side to pour over them (yes, there are two). My wife got the signature catfish plate; Catfish Desiard. She had never eaten catfish before, and she was blown away. Our son got a Po' Boy, which was as immense as it was good. My wife and I were going to go for the table-side Bananas Foster, but they were having trouble with the burner, so since our dinner was so good, we plan to go back on our way home and try again! So, if you love authentic Cajun food, you gotta check this place out!

Dine by the bayou!

I highly recommend checking out Waterfront Grill and sitting outside by the bayou. They have an assortment of seafood options, casual food for the picky eaters, drinks and a great view of the bayou. While I was there, we saw turtles in the water, cranes flying by and even people water skiing. The service is terrific!

Eating outside by the water

We were able to eat outside by the water which was wonderful. We split a broiled catfish entree which was plenty for two and had an extra side of sweet potatoes beside the green beans and broccoli. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

Pork Chops!!! Yes the Pork Chops!!!

Pork Chops!!! Yes the Pork chops are amazing 🤩 The Best I’ve had. I actually cut them with my fork yes that tender and juicy. When you dine here ask for Sawyer, he was attentive but gave us space and time but we never wanted for anything. When close to Monroe it’s a gotta try. You Welcome 🙏

Deceptive pricing

Order salad with catfish. On menu price was listed at 14.95. When bill arrived I was charged 15.95. When I inquired about the the increase I was told price of catfish went up last week. I was also told they could change price at anytime. Want be back.

Excellent Culinary Experience

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel clerk. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The setting is on a bayou, which made for very calm, relaxing dining. We enjoyed it so much that we ate there twice...once going east, and once returning home to Texas. On the first stop, we ate the special fish dish that was featured in Southern Living magazine (don't recall the name). It was excellent. On the second stop we ate the pork chops with a double side of mushrooms and onions. It was one of the best meals ever. Portions are extremely generous. You won't leave hungry. Service was prompt and attentive without being over bearing.

2024 family vacation

We always stop in Monroe overnight we we go to the beach. This has been a must-go-to-place for us the last few years. But no more. The fish was overcooked, shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. The waiter could have cared less if we were even there. No refills on drinks and never cracked a smile. I won't be returning.

Tasteless at best

This was my second time eating here in two years. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms and their signature appetizer "Oysters Weeno" to start. The mushrooms were ok with the exception of the rock hard cheese that topped them. The Oysters weeno was horrible. It was like eating oyster juice with no seasoning... I had the bbq shrimp po boy and dipping sauce, also not flavorful at all. The atmosphere is very nice and service was good but my family and I will not be returning. I would not recommend.

Great end to an amazing road trip

Sat outside, even in the heat & humidity, and it was amazing, especially getting to see the turtles swimming around. Waitress was very attentive and atmosphere was perfect. I’d been wanting gumbo on our whole trip and the bowl I got here definitely did not disappoint.

Allergy Friendly!!!!

I have gluten and dairy allergies, and they didn’t blink an eye. I ordered the redfish, mushrooms and onions, and a sweet potato. Everything was delish! Quick, friendly, efficient service….. we will be back when we are back through town!

Must visit restaurant in Monroe

Second time at this restaurant and it just keeps getting better. The staff is very friendly and helpful, cocktails are well made and the food is outstanding. If you are traveling close to Monroe stop here. They have a great location and they support the ULM Baseball team so there is a lot of nostalgia from sports teams on the wall. Sit outside if warm enough and see the turtles.
