Took youngest grandson there for dinner; service was prompt.I had the fried crawfish tails with pasta, and they were really good. My wife had the Deer Camp Meat Loaf which she said was delicious. Grandson had a new dish to me: Fried Chicken & waffles,...also great.More

BIRTHDAY DISSAPOINTMENT !!!!! HORRIBLE MISTAKE!!! I made reservations for my birthday for a party of more than 10. I paid the associated fees and was excited. Upon arrival my party was told that we could not be seated immediately because there were customers already sitting...there, even though my PAID reservation was for 1 pm. We were finally seated ONE HOUR LATER. My party was very nice to all staff , and never complained. It took almost another 20 minutes for our order to be taken, and then we were told they had run out of food.A BRUNCH, NO BISCUITS, ONE DRINK MINIMUM , (BECAUSE THEY WERE LATE SEATING AND SERVING US!! NOT ONE APOLOGY FROM THE MANAGER...NOT ONE!!! AND WE WERE EXTREMELY NICE!!!! It was my birthday and I am very dissapointed and dissatistfied. We spent a ton of money there , yet left STARVING!! I AM A FOODIE AND IT WAS SOME OF THE WORST FOOD I HAVE EVER TASTED. I HAVE EATEN IN THE BEST OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS, SO NO THIS WASN'T IT MONROE, DO BETTER !! I ASKED FOR CONDIMENTS FOR MY LACKLUSTER MEAL AND WAS GREETED WITH CONDESCENDING STARES AND ROLLING EYES ..10/10 I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND, and I want my money back or some sort of compensation because this was totally unacceptable.More

The restaurant has a very rustic feel to it and like the mason jars as drinking glasses. You would normally need to make a reservation depending on what time you go it is known to be very busy. We tried the duck wraps and they...had alil spice to them but they were delicious. For the main course my husband has the pork chop with red beans and rice. His main complaint was that there was no bread but he really enjoyed it. I tried the crawfish pasta and let’s just say there was nothing left because it was that good. Happy that we finally tried it and will recommend to other people.More

Very good meal! They have a nice selection of food that makes it hard to choose what to have! The carbonara was fantastic, the duck fat fries have just the right hint of gamey-ness that makes you want more, and the service was outstanding! The...staff was very to the point and allowed you the time to enjoy your meal but was also attentive without being annoying to the point that it ruins the meal. Also, it seems most people tend to dress up a bit more business casual when dining here but I was still able to dine in my very casual outfit.More

The interior and the decor is very nice. It's warm and inviting. Staff seemed a little confused as to their tasks, tables, and duties. Did not observe an apparent manager. Duck wrap appetizer was average; tasted like it had been under a warmer too long....Yardbird Sandwich was a basic crispy friend chicken sandwich that was good. Wasn't great or unusual. "Duck Fat fries where unimpressive, cool and soggy; and the portion was smaller than it should have been. Deviled Egg and biscuit appetizers were excellent. I wondered why we were always looking for our waitress to refill our water glasses, bring us some napkins, etc. My wondering ceased when I saw 20% mandatory gratuity. She knew she would receive at least 20% of our check!!More

We had a wonderful meal in this beautiful restaurant located in a historic building on the Ouachita River. The food was unique and well prepared. We loved the biscuits and cane syrup butter. My husband had the venison schnitzel and I had the strawberry salad...with grilled chicken. We finished with a delta fried pie. Our server was friendly and attentive.More

Visited Planter’s on a Saturday morning for brunch. It wasn’t busy and I don’t mind waiting for my food for 30 minutes if it’s worth it. The best part of our meal was the cold duck fat fries. Super disappointed. Our food was very bland...and almost flavorless. 2 stars because our server was great!More

We dined here last night since very few places are open on Mondays around here. It was very good. The retro look with brick walls, etc., was neat. The wait staff was a little stressed as they were surprisingly (to them) slammed and even turned...some away. It is not huge, but popular. The service was a little slow, but OK. The waitress was able to allow my wife to alter her meal to meet her needs. It is a creole place and I had red snapper over risotto and it was good. We had the char broiled oysters as an app and they were tasty. I am glad we came to town to eat here.More

Wow! The duck wraps were fabulous, but Terry made the most unique drink - the Ole Smokey. Oh my!!! You have to try it, and be sure Terry is working behind the bar!

Excellent restaurant to enjoy a meal and drinks and be able to carry on a conversation. We started off with a salad (which a couple can share and have plenty) we followed with Crawfish Two Ways over fettuccine and Duck Wraps. Food was outstanding and...service was as well. Definitely worth going for a great experience.More

I was here for a rehearsal dinner with about 50-60 people. They should have had 3 people working the room, but only had two. Also they should have had water on the tables instead of having to request it and have constant refill requests. The...food was really good, but mine was cold. I understand that timing is hard with a group, but I was disappointed.More

We went to Cotton last Saturday night while in Monroe for the Dixie League Boys World Series. The waitress gave us a brief history of the building, pointing out the highlights of one of the oldest buildings in Monroe. The specialty cocktails were very interesting....I ordered a cocktail called "The Ole Smokey." When brought to the table, it is infused with smoke from a fire set on top of the glass. Awsome presentation, and the drink was delicious. My main course was the Crawfish Two Ways. Best dinner I have had in years. And I almost forgot to mention the biscuits. The kind that almost melts in your mouth. My only regret was there was no room for dessert. I highly recommend Cotton when you get to Monroe.More

Just went to Sunday brunch at Cotton and it was awesome! We enjoyed the Duck Wraps and Biscuit Beignets for appetizers! The Duck Wraps were amazing and the Beignets were tasty as well, served with cane butter. I enjoyed the brunch buffet which had an...array of breakfast/lunch options as well as an omelet station. I chose the short ribs and mashed potatoes. I also had a taste of the crawfish mac and cheese - didn't love that. The biscuits melted in your mouth and the bread pudding was unbelievable! My friends had the classic benedict which was perfect and the fried chicken and waffles! Service was attentive and perfect. If we find ourselves in Monroe again, we'd definitely come back!More
