My husband and I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. We were staying at a hotel just a couple blocks away and decided to try this place. We ordered the Captains Seafood Platter for 2, which had fried oysters, shrimp, craw puppies, soft shell crab and fried fish, plus cole slaw, french fries, french bread and hush puppies for $38.00 and... For years the travel channel and various “foody shows” have teased my wife with the ACME oysters. She finally made it and was very pleased. The very first thing we did when we made it to the area after checking into our hotel was head for the ACME Oyster House. As was expected the food was great! Again, as expected... More

There are quite a few restaurants (oysters) that I like but this one I love ! Not a big menu but there are several other options other than oysters and the food is all very good. Acme Oysters are always fresh and the best tasting ... raw or grill both are a sure win.

Went to NO for spur of moment trip....wanted to absorb local flavor. I wasn't aware this was a chain but I had crab cake and husband and son had New Orleans Medley which had gumbo, jumbalaya, red beans/rice with smoked sausage. Husband said gumbo was best, son said red beans/rice was. Crab cake was good but I had to ask... More

We chose this site versus the French Quarters and checking into the hotel. It was on our way in. LIvely joint, waiting list but things were moving. The oysters were good, along with fried shrimp. The fish with shrimp and crab sauce was a little too rich and yet so-so in flavor. Honestly have had better on the eastern shores... More

Veterans Blvd location is a classic suburban family oyster/seafood spot. You get to see real Louisians in a clean comfortable large open concept restaurant. No French Quarter tourist types. Home spun chow.

Oyster po'boys are loaded with crispy, succulent oysters that are breaded with a thin layer that does not mask the great flavor of the fresh oyster. Gumbo was as great as my wife makes.

Had the char grilled oysters and they were great. The large seafood platter for two is enough for 3. The service was great and friendly. This Acme is not the one in the French quarter so the wait time to get seated was very short,so take the short ride.

Thank Jimmy I
