i have tried going to A Tacoma a couple of times but 1) they were usually busy and 2) the hostess weren’t the nicest when we entered so we left. this time there was no one in the restaurant so the seating was quick and...the service good we started off with the bruschetta and then got the chicken linguini with alfredo and the quattro frommagio pizza. complimentary bread was also given. the complimentary bread was very good and tasted fresh, the bruschetta was the mozzarella and balsamic oil over the same bread but toasted but the mozzarella and balsamic oil flavoring were very good. the pizza crust was very good and the pizza on top had an arugula dressing which made the pizza better; the chicken linguini was decent and each were in decent portion size. overall good flavored food and good portion size - a little pricey thoughMore

Went to 'a Tavola' for lunch with my wife. The restaurant is very well appointed with a nice ambiance, and the service was quite good. I ordered the pepperoni pizza and was very disappointed... When the pizza was served, it looked very good. The presentation...was excellent! However, the pepperoni itself was sliced so thin (almost paper thin), I couldn't taste it... Given that the pizza was almost $20 for an individual pizza, I expected better...More

The menu is extremely generic and inauthentic. But the service is very good. It's a good spot for lunch if you're at the mall, but I wouldn't go out if my way to go there. There's no real chef, just a corporate rep who trains...the staff.More

A Tavola is a modern Italian restaurant next to Lakeside Mall with a warm and bright atmosphere. The service is professional and the the food is well-executed. I had the Genovese sandwich and a Godfather cocktail. They were both well done. This is a great...spot for sophisticated business lunches.More

The food was lukewarm at arrival, cold by the time we finished. Tasteless! I ordered veal piccata. I can't state this for a fact but I believe the meat was ground veal, not the whole piece as it should be. Total for this plus some...noodles, tax and tip - $40. My companion got two small pieces of braised beef on mashed potatoes - same price. We both swore we'd never go there again. Service was adequate but we had to ask twice for separate checks.More

We stopped on a one day whim. And now it’s become a weekend regular. The wife and I are older and like the friendly and easy conversations with the employees. However, it’s turned out to be a favorite eating spot for the weekend. I don’t...think you can go wrong with anything from my recommendation is the chefs tomato basil and the grill yellowfin tuna (I get mine raw – sashimi). This place is a secret so don’t tell anybody laugh out loud.More

When we arrived 11:10am, (6) of us the hostess asked if we had a reservation. We did not and you would think we had asked for free food and drinks for 50. She very rudely told us "the entire restaurant was full with reservations, but...she could put us in the bar at a round table". We were seated near the pick up station for the wait staff for the bar and boy did we get an education. We watched wait staff stick their ungloved fingers into the jars of pickled veggies for the bloody mary, stick them on picks and drop them in the drinks. Not the bar staff, the wait staff. The ones that pick up money, dirty dishes, glasses and utensils off the tables after people have been touching them. How clean were their hands? After they had the pickle juice on them, they wiped them on their aprons! We also had the bathroom to our backs and when the door was opened you could smell the bathroom. We could see into the rest of the restaurant and the entire time we were there we watched many open tables where no one ever sat down to eat. MANY! Is it because we are older, women, (we tip more than 20%, ask our waitress) or just the fact that we dared to go to their location without a reservation? We will never know because we will not be going back. We have been there many times and did not feel it was so busy of a restaurant as to warrant a reservation. I ordered a pizza and got one that had a border sometimes 4 inches deep, very little pepperoni and to be honest, burned in a few places. We did have the lemon cheesecake that was wonderful. Skip it if you can. Maybe it was just one of those horrible days that we all have but 3 strikes in one trip and you are out with me, (technically the nasty hands in the jars was enough for me, what are they doing in the kitchen where you can not see??) Too many places actually want your business and don't talk down to you.More

A big thank you to Courtney, the service manager and our server, Delissa! We were looking for a place to accommodate 17 people for an engagement party and A-Tavola was flexible and happy to provide a perfect space for our group. We used the airconditioned...outdoor patio for our event while Courtney and other employees rearranged tables and provided a space exactly like we wanted to enjoy eating and moving around to greet family and take pictures. The food was excellent and we loved the flexibility of ordering appetizers for all to enjoy while they mingled with also orders from the menu for guests to sit and relax with a full meal. Although we didn't use the indoor dining space, it is also a great atmosphere. We will definitely go back to A Tavola and we highly recommend this restaurant!More

Overall experience was good. There are 2 reasons for not rating this restaurant higher, the service received ( or lack thereof ) and one of the meals ( it looked like it had been dropped and thrown back on the plate....). The person waiting on...our table was very pleasant but either inexperienced or having a bad night. He forgot things, I ordered a bottle of chardonnay, I asked a couple of times for a chiller........it never came, ordered tuna and steak, he was walking away and never asked how we wanted it cooked....brought the check, never asking if we wanted coffee and dessert( we did). Getting back to the food item, the grilled yellowfin tuna - it was overcooked, looked pan cooked not grilled and was overcooked - I asked for rare), not grilled and it was not a good cut of tuna. On the plus side, the salad was fresh, great lemon chili vinaigrette and dressed properly. My dining partner ordered the filet mignon and loved it! Overall, I would recommend this restaurant and will try it again, the menu is interesting, the atmosphere is wonderful and the wine list is really good. Everyone has an off night........More

We dined here on a weeknight...we had looked at the menu on line and were not sure. We found the place to be very nice...clean...and comfortable. We ordered the crab cake appetizer and the goat cheese...both were yummy. Then we ordered several main courses all...were very good. The service was prompt...and we were well cared for. We’ve eaten in most of the Italian restaurants in town and this place is up with the best.More

5 friends got together to try this new place for happy hour. Beautiful renovation. Promptly seated. Excellent attentive service throughout. Specialty drinks for $6 were delicious. We had the eggplant appetizer, a veggie and a sausage pizza, a mista salad and the lemon cheesecake. Everything...was perfectly cooked and came out very fast. We will definitely return to try more menu items.More
