Was driving past this pub and stopped here for lunch. The food was amazing and we really enjoyed it. We really loved the chilli jam and brought a pot when we left.

The al a carte menu we have enjoyed before. The casual lunch menu was limited and unremarkable. Food has been very good and I sure is still available. Light casual lunch needs more attention. Worth a visit

I’ll start with the negative (and the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars), the delay before the desserts arrived was almost irritating but not quite. Even then though the staff were at pains to keep communicating and apologising so certainly did their best. However...More

We ate here for lunch as part of the Jane Austen/Hidden Britain tour. Loved everything we had! They were able to accommodate various dietary needs. Service may seem slow to American visitors, but the food is well worth the wait.

Description
Award winning independent family owned free house. Daily changing menu cooked with local ingredients when available. We are able to source world award winning cheese, lamb, eggs and game when in season from our village. We have four real ale pumps and sell at least two local ales. We have a large wine list, many served by the glass and an extensive Gin & Whisky offering. The building is Victorian with huge windows and high ceilings and heated by two log burners throughout winter, for the summer we have a large garden with patio area seating .
