A touch expensive for Standard Southern cooking, but honestly there is NOTHING along this portion of I-49 but fast food and Junk food. The waitresses are nice, the food is quick and you support a local restaurant. One that because they are a touch expensive shuts down the entire restaurant for 2 weeks so that the staff can have a... They serve one breakfast plate and your only options are: the way you want your 2 eggs cooked, choosing between bacon, ham, or sausage, and deciding on either grits or hash-browns (~$10). Our server was nice & attentive and we were served quickly. I have been here one other time for lunch and had to wait a very very long... More

Although this is called a lunch room, pies are the specialty. So skip lunch and just go for the pie, any pie. And plan to buy one for the road or as a hostess gift.

If you are traveling on 49--you need to stop here especially if u are not from Louisiana. Great pie--it's what they are known for. The plate lunches are darn tasty as well. I had pot-roast and sweet potatoes and it was great. Old School and proud of it!!!!!!!!

We decided to drive to the Cane River area and got a great tip about Lea's. Something you should know about me, is that I love pie. We stopped here 2 days in a row to sample their pies and eat some food- the pies were better than the regular food, but it was still fine and a good price.... More

We've been to Lea's twice in as many months. Prior to these recent visits, it had been over 20 years since I last visited. And, I have to say that I don't think it has changed. What this place is famous for is the pie. All kinds, to go or eat in. They are on display in old style glass... More

Good food finished off with a piece of coconut cream pie. Best pies you can find in LA. Worth the stop between Alexandria and Lafayette.

Lea's is a Louisiana institution famous for decades for its ham sandwiches and its marvelous pies. It's not much to look at, but that is part of its flavor and its charm. I recently dropped by for my fourth or fifth visit over the years. I had my usual, a ham sandwich and a piece of chocolate pie with its... More

Lea's pies are the best. People complain about the $20 price for a whole pie, but it's really not that bad. These pies are handmade from scratch, everyday. For lunch you get what they have. Ham plus vegetables, ham sandwich, or whatever meat they have. Its good ole country food. It's been like that for almost 100 years. If I... More
