Good food finished off with a piece of coconut cream pie. Best pies you can find in LA. Worth the stop between Alexandria and Lafayette.

Lea's is a Louisiana institution famous for decades for its ham sandwiches and its marvelous pies. It's not much to look at, but that is part of its flavor and its charm. I recently dropped by for my fourth or fifth visit over the years. I had my usual, a ham sandwich and a piece of chocolate pie with its... More

Sunday noon in Lecompte ... there's only one place to go and it is great... sandwiches, fried chicken, sweet tea and a slue to pies.

Lea's pies are the best. People complain about the $20 price for a whole pie, but it's really not that bad. These pies are handmade from scratch, everyday. For lunch you get what they have. Ham plus vegetables, ham sandwich, or whatever meat they have. Its good ole country food. It's been like that for almost 100 years. If I... More

While the small portion of Hamm was tasty along with the OK veggies, I had a piece of pie and coffee to end the meal. I hardly think the small portions were priced at what I could have had a steak dinner for. I would not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for value.

Took a leisurely drive from Natchitoches to Lafayette and encountered Lea's. Who can resist somewhere in the "pie capital" of Louisiana. Stopped in for lunch - their ham sandwich is fabulous - ham tastes fresh baked and tender. I had the chocolate pie (with meringue topping) and my husband had the fresh cherry pie (slightly tart not too sweet). They... More

Have been hearing about Lea's for umpteen years and decided to get off I-49 and give it a try. Certainly not what they're made to be. I guess it's like the meat pies in Natchitoches. The coconut cream pie had a mile high meringue, but I didn't buy the pie for a meringue, I bought it for the custard. It... More

You have a choice between a "plate" lunch and a Ham/Cheese Sandwich. The plate lunch is good but not great. The pie was not as good as I expected but it was above average. The price of the plate lunch for the area was very high in my opinion, $12.95. Would I go back? Probably not.

It's an old fashioned restaurant with fresh homemade pies family recipes past down generation through generation. The best homemade pies made before our eyes, and the food is pretty good also. I like the lunch specials, especially their family recipe authentic homemade red beans and rice. They pre-soak the bean over night in a brown sugar water solution. Oh, the... More
