Amazing food with an environment with so much hospitality. When went just wanting to try new food and that was exactly what happened! There is so many new flavors I never experienced and it was amazing! Especially the jalapeño sauce they make is a must...try! I love this restaurant it I was really let down tonight. For the first time ever the service was poor, and there was a very bad language barrier (which has never been and issue before). I ordered the Cuban classic and was very specific about...the yucca being fried. Instead I got bland boiled yucca. The beans and rice were hard and cold. The meat was excellent but there was not enough of it. The tamale was excellent. The waitress never came back to check on our table. It took forever to get our drinks, and they were not very good tonight. Overall this was a bad miss based upon this restaurant’s past performance. We just returned from visiting Miami and had amazing Cuban food there. When my friend and I spent $16 a plate for Cuban food delivery from THIS location, after all of the high reviews, we were excited to enjoy Cuban cuisine again. The food was...bland and disappointing, especially after paying all of the delivery fees. The yucca had no seasoning and the different meats were decent, but void of Cuban flair. It wasn't worth it. Maybe dining INSIDE the restaurant is better. The only redeeming portion was the delicious fried plantains. Also, make sure to ask for utensils and napkins. Delivery doesn't seem to be a priority.More
We have so many great places to eat that to move up the ladder here is almost impossible. Cafe Habana City has great food and drink, the workers are super friendly. It does not matter if you are the only table, or if they are...busy, the food and service will always be first class.More
One of the best restaurants in the Lafayette area, hands down. I’ve had many of the dishes. If you are looking for some authentic Cuban and Caribbean food, this is your place!

From the outside, it appeared to be another unimportant cafe in Lafayette, but on the recommendation of a friend I tried it. OMG, it is fantastic. the first evening, we had the Habana style seafood gumbo - so good, it is now my favorite gumbo from anywhere. i recommend the fried yucca highly, it comes with citrus dipping sauce and is delicious - not greasy at all. the second visit, i...had the plantains with the shredded pork. Plantains are delicious, again, fried, but not greasy at all. the pork was a surprise texture, but very flaforful. i was expecting pulled pork texture, but it was more chewy closer to jerky than tender. but i ate it all, the flavor was wonderful.More
Ate here spontainiously, great food. Took three to go boxes home so there was plenty of food. Would eat here again
I found this place by driving around and I am glad I stopped in. Really great Cubano sandwich and fried plantains.
