We were surprised how big the crawfish was as we were there at the end of the season. June 20, 2016. They had a good variety of choices as far as seafood, chicken and beef. A little pricey but worth the $$$. Great choices on deserts as well. One of the owners was there and we had a very pleasant... More

The variety of food here was great. Lots of cajun favorites for this Midwest person. Boiled crawfish and shrimp were yummy and well seasoned. Fried pickles, onion strings and boudin were appetizers. The deserts! Oh my. A platter was brought out and our group ended up picking the peanut butter cheesecake, bread pudding, hummingbird cake and key lime cheesecake. All... More

We went with another couple for dinner during the week. It is known for its boiled crawfish during the season, but our party had the Dis and Dat Burgers, one had the seafood platter and crawfish half-n-half platter. We had the Boudin Bombers and Onion Sticks for appetizer. Appetizers were good. Would order them again. Our server was new/training but... More

I've lived in Lafayette several years and a friend of mine wanted to go to Gator Cove when they were in town visiting. As far as Cajun food goes, it's not bad, but it's not super great either. I had a really hard time getting past the odor in the dining room. I've been to plenty of seafood and crawfish... More

We were surprised to find the restaurant back behind a couple of other buildings but worth getting to. We had very good food and excellent service in a fun, rustic setting. Very nice mural of Louisiana swamp and a 13 foot alligator (stuffed). Will return next time in the area.

We had the boiled crawfish, boudin bombers (boudin with burst of cheese in an eggroll, and fried) so good, and fried catfish with crawfish. The flavors and seasoning was just right. You had a party in your mouth! The tables are picnic tables, and the atmosphere is like coming home, very friendly warm and welcoming.

We went to the old iconic place hoping to get oysters, shrimp and crawfish on a Friday evening about 8pm. We were the only people in the place. No oysters. Crawfish weren't in season. We ordered a shrimp boil. The shrimp was tasty. We ordered draft beers which were cold. The waitstaff was almost too friendly. I feel it is... More

We stumbled upon Gator Cove. The restaurant is truly unique to these Texans! Glynis was our waitress and she was just sensational. She explained everything to us and treated us like family! Great food & fantastic atmosphere! A little high $$ for me but it was worth the experience!

Went here to have some boiled crawfish, they were FANTASTIC! Not too seasoned but they had a really good flavor. The service was great and we didn't have to wait very long for our food either! Will definitely return!
