I can say with a great degree of confidence that their gumbo and jambalaya are excellent. I tried them both.

I went to this place during their summer concert series and the menu options were perfect but for the price the food was scarce. The entree seemed to be a standard appetizer, but it was of good quality. The interior is great; however, the location is surrounded by several fast food restaurants so the outside area seems cheap.

We were regulars at Café V's during the 90's and up till 2005 or so when they changed chefs. we have revisited several times since then but have always been disappointed It is a wonderful location and a beautiful restaurant and garden but the service and food are no longer up to their previous level of excellence . My favorite... More

Cafe Vermilionville has been in business for many years and when you visit you understand why. They understand that having first class atmosphere (thinks crisp white table linens), old school charm (classic plantation home decor) and excellent service is important, but it's the food that keeps people coming back. For our anniversary dinner we shared the lobster sauté appetizer, which... More

We had a lovely time dining at vermilionville. It was a great dinner for our 10th anniversary! We ordered off the pre fixe menu/eat Lafayette special. My husband upgraded to the steak Louis. It was fabulous!!!! I had the Madeira chicken with these delicious potatoes! And key lime pie was really yummy. Beautiful courtyard, would love to sit outside and... More

Cafe Vermilionville undersells itself with the title 'cafe'. It is a stylish restaurant suitable for a big night out. Service is excellent and Tyler our waiter was just fabulous. The food was very good. My husband said his meal was one of the best he has had while in the US. Highly recommended.

They have done an excellent job with the updating of this wonderful house, it is so inviting and welcoming. The garden room windows overlook a lovely courtyard, a real asset to have that gorgeous view while... More

Nancy was a great source of information about the history of Cafe Vermilionville as my wife and I enjoyed a late night drink. We recall it's previous venue as Judge Roy Bean in the early 1970s. The atmosphere is much improved with the remodeling in the 1980s and Nancy explained it all.

Sometimes going with the flow is the best course of action. When in the heart of Cajun country, a visit calls for a classic meal housed in this gorgeous late 1700 abode. Seated at a white linen-covered table in a wood-beamed dining room, our culinary immersion starts with turtle soup, smoked turkey and andouille gumbo... and the speciality du maison...... More
