Best Poboys

Olde Tye Grocery has been around for many years. I don't think they have ever had a slow day! Fantastic probes! My favorite is the fried shrimp. It is worth a stop whenever you get the chance.

I've had poboys from all around Louisiana. I've had poboys from New Orleans restaurants that were supposed to be the "best" you've ever had. Not one of them come close to this poboy. It doesn't matter what poboy you order from here, it's better than any poboy you have ever or will ever eat. Hands down. Period. End of story.

Olde Tyme Grocery is a tradition in Lafayette. It is located in the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus area and is known for its poboys. The popular one is the fried shrimp. Most locals say it is the best in town. It's a smaller building that is usually packed during lunch hours. First timers may be a bit intimidated... More

My wife brought me here several years ago while visiting her family. Now we stop every time we are in the area. I always get the shrimp po-boy. Very good, and piled on with lots of good size fried shrimp. Make an effort to give it a try if in the area.

I lived in new Orleans for a large part of my life. Po boys are a staple there. Old tyme grocery hits it out of the park eveytime I eat one of their awesome sandwiches. Bring cash, they don't accept credit!

Old Tyme Grocery is a little corner store a block away from the University of Louisiana - Lafayette campus. It has an indoor and outdoor seating area. You can't visit Lafayette without trying a po'boy and Old Tyme has the best! I've tried the 1/2 oyster and 1/2 shrimp, but prefer the 100% shrimp. Bread is fresh and shrimp is... More

Good poor boys. Located near the college campus so it's a busy area with lots of pedestrians. The poor boys are loaded and quality is good. Prices are fair market. My favorite is the meatball poor boy and on Fridays you can get a fried catfish poor boy! Nom nom!!!

Olde Tyme Grocery is the best place to bring visitors for poboys. My favorite is the turkey and provolone. Fresh sliced turkey, warm provolone, "dressed" with lettuce tomato and mayo, and served on delicious warm french bread. I'm generally a "plain jane" kind of girl, but even a boring turkey sandwich is elevated to a new level at Olde Tyme.... More

I've never ordered anything except a fried shrimp poboy from Olde Tyme Grocery. Hands downs the best I've had anywhere.
