I have visited Olde Tyme Grocery for over 20 years now... always the best poboys at the best price! The shrimp poboy is my absolute favorite- they use the biggest, sweetest gulf shrimp!! You NEED to stop by if you are in Lafayette around the...ULL area.More

Part of the food tour stop. Fantastic po'boys. And the little store reminded me of growing up with corner grocery stores. Known for Poboys, also local brews available by the can or bottle.

The Best PoBoys this side of the Mississippi These guys have perfected the poboy. From the roast beef all the way to the half and half shrimp and oyster. Their sizes are great and the bread is baked locally and delicious. The restaurant has an...old time vibe from how you order to how you pay and then pick up your food. Somewhat like a deli however a Superb deli if I might add. Make sure you know what you want before stepping up to the counter or you will be swept away by another customer eager to place their order.More

My friend and I were tired of fast food chain options for lunch and found this quaint little place. It is well worth the drive through Lafayette to reach amazing choices for po boys! We shared the shrimp po boy and their “special”. Large, perfectly...breaded and fried shrimp fell out of my side of the sandwich! The special was loaded with meat and more than enough to share! Grab your sides and drinks, this place is well worth the drive!More

The shrimp poboy was really good. The whole poboy is enough for 2 people to share. I gave 4 stars because the potato wedges were very undercooked. Hint: get chips with your poboy .

Definitely one of the best shrimp po'boys I have ate. The halves are huge so I only got the "half." Wish I had room to enjoy the full order! Absolutely love the style of the restaurant too. Hasn't been changed in years and makes it...a special place.More

Good eats. Ordered 3 different po boys.. half shrimp, a ham and a roast beef. All were good. The roast beef is as really tender. At first glance you might have seconds thoughts but would definitely give it a try. I would be a repeat...customer. Note the snowballs next door, also highly recommend you give it a try.More

Stopped by for my first experience at this local place and was very pleased. The half shrimp was plenty to eat and went great with the Zapps and a hand pie. The sandwich was delicious. Very friendly staff. Definitely worth checking out.

Found off TripAdvisor & boy were they right! Quaint old time market with shrimp po boy that filled me to the top. Should have ordered a half but did manage to at least eat all the shrimp out of the other half. So good, it’s...on our list to revisit. Yum!More

We did an overnight stop on our way home just to return for the outstanding Po Boys. We have been stopping here whenever we pass Lafayette on I 10 since Houston columnist and food critic Ken Hoffman wrote about the great Po Boys a few...years ago. We stopped mid afternoon for a late lunch. My wife had the shrimp Po Boy and I finally tried the meatball Po Boy which I have been eying for years. Both were outstanding....the meatball Po Boy is a 6 napkin sandwich. I took a bite of my wife’s shrimp Po Boy and as always the shrimp was perfectly cooked. The bread makes the sandwich.....it has good flavor. Olde Tyme Grocery is definitely worth the stop....thank you Ken Hoffman. The people we tell about Olde Tyme Grocery either know about it and love it or once they try it love it. We told my brother and his wife about the Po Boys and they tried them on their pre COVID Southern road trip. After stopping in Lafayette they spent a month staying in the Irish Channel in NOLA trying many Po Boys and they still rate Olde Tyme Grocery the best they have experienced.More

The bathrooms are clean and from what i remember the chairs are comfortable. The place is super casual, floor is a little uneven I think~ but take your time, the place is worth it.
