We had never had it and saw it on the way in. When we were leaving we passed it, but circled back. I'm glad we did!

We stopped in here to pick up some boudain and cracklin's. The boudain tasted flat to me and my wife said that the cracklins were overcooked and hard.
THis is a shack along the road just north of Kinder. I've had plenty of packaged craklins and pork rinds all of my life. This has them all beat. If you've never had it, you're in for a treat.
This store is a great stop on the way to or leaving Coushatta Resort. Fresh, meaty Cracklins, sold by the pound, good Boudin, and a really good Pork Sausage. Other items--sauces, pickles, cast iron pots, etc.--are also for sale. The staff is Cajun Friendly. Plenty...More
Stopped in to grab some boudin to take home. We bought a 4 lb. frozen box for $20. Well worth every penny. There were 1/2 lb. boudin links inside. It is some of the best boudin I have ever had. Well worth the stop to...More

Saw this place on the side of the hwy in Kinder, La. I had always heard of boudin, but was very skeptical of trying it. After speaking with the staff, my friend and I decided to give it a shot and we were amazed at...More
Boudin was good, not great. Location and parking was easy. Workers inside weren't very friendly. They were efficient in taking our order and preparing the boudin, but didn't try and engage us at all.
The staff was very sweet and helpful. I can not wait until I can make it back to Louisiana. Hopefully I can make it to New Orleans next time.
The cracklins are definitely the big draw here - just be prepared to pay big prices! But they taste so good that your probably won't mind too much... The Boudin is just average - not the best I've eaten, but very good on a slice...More
