Lee's Diner is one good old fashioned diner that has always had a good range of food at reasonable prices, but unfortunately they were shut down a few months ago by a fire from the neighboring seafood store. They are working hard to get reopened, which can't be soon enough!

Oh, yes Lee's is coming back. Great service, delicious sandwiches, hot dinner plates of mashed potatoes, roast n gravy, broccoli ; daily specials; hamburgers and fries; we love Lee's home cookin and seeing our neighbors. We ate there the week before fire and are anxiously awaiting reopening...

This was a favorite destination for shakes and fries when I was in college and when my mom was in college as well! Sadly, on a recent visit to Hammond to see our old stomping grounds we learned (and saw) that this classic Hammond institution had burned down. Lee's Diner was awesome and it will be missed.

A business ajacent to Lee's caught fire and the blaze spread to Lee's. They suffered fire, smoke and water damage that not only affected the building but the roof as well. They have not sold but are in the throes of a major renovation and will reopen better than before. Those of us in Hammond must patiently await their return.

Lee's is a landmark diner in Hammond. However, driving by the place yesterday I saw it has been closed and ongoing construction leads to only two possibilities. One is the property is sold and the building is being extensively remodeled, most likely by what I saw. Or, it is being enlarged by the owner because there is room to do... More

No matter what you order the food is always fresh and delicious. The service is excellent. I highly recommend Lee's Diner. They not only have great food but their ice cream parlor has the best creamiest ice cream and shakes.

We enjoy Lees very much. Not fancy, but very comfortable. Service is always very good. Food quality is consistent. Nice place to get a good home cooked type meal. You get plenty of food for your $.

Had the roast beef poboy. It was a complete mess by the time it arrived at out table. Very sloppy even before putting the gravy on it. Tiger PoBoy across town has the BEST PoBoys in hammond.

We were passing though Hammond, staying the night. When we drove around looking for a place to eat we saw this dinner that had a full parking lot, and decided that this place must have good food. After waiting for a parking place we went in and were not disappointed. The oyster Po Boy was delicious, with oysters piled high... More

Great atmosphere from the days of Elvis Presley and James Dean! The decor is from the jukebox era and the food just can't be beat! You don't have to ask WHERE'S THE BEEF with their delicious homemade hamburgers, and the daily specials are always sooooo good! Great family restaurant!
