I have been eating at Don's since I was a child in the early 1960s. On August 14th, we took a visiting friend so that he could experience Louisiana seafood. There were 7 of us and it wasn't really busy. Meal was terrible. My mother's food was over fried so much that it was hard as the table. We sent... More

Went to try all you can eat boiled shrimp and was pleased. Good, hot, well-boiled shrimp. Cocktail sauce was just right.

After walking in and seeing this was a Landry's chain restaurant, is when I should have left. I just prefer independent restaurants. Nothing had any flavor. Not even the Jacked Up Oysters. Garlic bread, tuna, mashed potatoes and beans, all bland. Service was even bland. Landry's fans probably love this place. Just not for me :-(

Had dinner with my area manager. Don's was appropriately quiet even though several tv's were dotted around showing playoff baseball & USA soccer. The food was excellent, both of us ordered seafood platters which was served timely and cooked to satisfaction. Ample servings for the price. Our server was attentive but also allowed time for our discussions. I would definitely... More

The Jacked up Oysters- Charbroiled with bacon, jalapenos and pepper jack cheese is the best way to start dinner. The crab dinner will make you hurt.

My husband took me here for a no-child-in-tow date. As long as you like Don's inhouse special spice the food is ok. Pricier than I expected. Fine dining prices at a mid-range food restaurant with a bar. I can check it off of my to-go-to list and go back to another restaurant now.

The food is always tasty and consistent. They have a great menu with lots of options for everyone. Always a pleasant dining experience, especially for a chain.

I always look forward to enjoying some good Cajun seafood when in the New Orleans area and decided after reading the positive Trip Adviser reviews that this would be a great place to eat on the first of my two nights in the area on this trip. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.

DON'S SEAFOOD More Than Eighty Years of Exceptional Seafood South Louisiana locals and visitors have been drawn to DON'S authentic Cajun cuisine for more than 80 years. Menu selections including traditional Landry family recipes, and more recent original creations like Zydeco Shrimp, are well worth repeat visits. Many stop in daily for oysters on the half shell or boiled crawfish in season. DON'S bartenders serve Signature Old Fashioned cocktails alongside the newest specialty drinks, many made with Louisiana products. DON'S SEAFOOD began in 1934, when Don Landry opened his first restaurant and bar in downtown Lafayette with $400 borrowed from his uncle. Prohibition had just been lifted and at only 24 years old, he envisioned serving drinks and offering a simple menu featuring fresh local seafood. Four generations later, the Landry family has expanded that humble beginning into what would eventually become the DON'S SEAFOOD of today. Continuing the tradition, the Landry family still owns and operates each location. An extensive menu of original South Louisiana Cajun family recipes, the freshest Gulf seafood and sizzling steaks is offered. Each location boasts a unique Acadiana-inspired décor, all have a full-service bar and grill, perfect for casual diners or sports enthusiasts. Every DON'S SEAFOOD grill features an open charbroiler where diners can watch exclusive dishes being prepared like DON'S Original Jacked Up Oysters loaded with bacon, jalapenos and pepper jack cheese. Whether you're just passing through South Louisiana or live right around the corner, you'll find a DON'S SEAFOOD location near you in Lafayette, Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, Gonzales, Hammond, Covington and Metairie.
