The pecan-encrusted catfish Meuinere was easily the best catfish I've ever had in my...life. My charming companion's filet was also extraordinary (normally I don't share in restaurants, but my arm was gently twisted, andt trying a bit from each other's plate is a rewarding exercise in Gallegher's. Good wine list; excellent desserts. Top notch kitchen is equalled by top-notch service. I only gave Gallagher's five stars--if I could have given over five, they'd have gotten an entire galaxy. p.s. TA asked me some very strange questions upon completion of my review: is Gallagher's a "hidden gem"? Can't be that hidden: every table was taken when we were there. Is Gallagher's good for bar scene? No, swinging singles out to find new friends, catch NBA games on wide-screen or shoot a few games of pool would need to go else. Does Galligher's serve "bar/pub food"? I don't believe pub grub includes filet mignon, Colorado lamb chops off the rack, or even turtle soup. But in a spirit of reciprocity, Gallagher's refrains from serving nachos or chicken wings, in order not to cut into the pubs' turf.More
