This was our first visit to Breaux Bridge and we did not know the area at all. We stayed at a lovely B&B (Maison Des Amis) a few blocks away, which included complementary breakfast at Chez Jaqueline. The breakfast was absolutely delicious (crawfish etouffee), with ample portions served. The restaurant is small and quaint, with Ms. Jacqueline's family photos and... More

First of all ignore any reviews that claim this place has poor service because of being slow, because it has good service that "is slow" and they let you know that and even have a sign that says so and encourages you to leave if you expect fast service and can't wait. What you should expect and will receive is... More

I visited for breakfast on a Saturday during the Crawfish Festival. There was a wait for a seat. After a table is cleared, you just need to know to seat yourself. Once seated, it took awhile for a waitress to stop by and then an hour to get my order of scrambled eggs topped with Crawfish Etoffee. It wasn't really... More

The only thing that kept us waiting for over one hour for our food was the music. This restaurant uses the entertainment as a crutch to have poor customer service. Be prepared to wait and wait and wait for your food, even at slow times.

Crawfish ettouffee was the highlight along with the lemon sage chicken, the shrimp po boy was also good, but could have done with some spicing up. Decor is great, very local and french , the music being played (pop) seems a bit out place though, something cajun or french would be better. There is going ti be a local act... More

We showed up at an odd hour due to our fishing trip getting rained out. Jacqueline took wonderful care of us. I'm not big on breakfast, but the egg and sausage were delicious. Hubby had a real breakfast, crawfish etouffee on eggs and loved every bite. He licked the plate clean. Jacqueline and her staff were friendly and gracious.

Very informal, laid back. Host was charming, and food was authentic and good. My crawfish ettouffe on eggs was fresh and tasty. The real deal!

Having lunch at this restaurant run by locals is a genuine experience, and something further from the glitz of a fast-food outlet is hard to imagine. Wonderful ancient décor, superb home-cooked food and (on Saturdays) guitar music from a local musician. Ask the owner to "cook something Cajun" if you are willing to try anything (alligator stew in my case).... More
