First let me say I have been a fan of Cafe' Des Amis since the late 90's. Always great food and a fun time. We often took out of town visitors there for a great meal in an interesting place. Sadly that is no more. Oh, the sign is still up and the door open but the restaurant is not... More

Went for the Zydeco breakfast so got up early to be at the front of the queue, only there wasn't much of a queue which we put down to the wrong date being on their website. Chatted to some lovely Louisiana people while waiting for the cafe to open, and sat with one group once inside. The breakfast & mimosa's... More

We visited in the evening so missed the zydeco music. But I loved the history of the place with an elevator shaft to bring down caskets made upstairs. Now it is part of the hostess desk. Bar from Lafayette and local artists artwork. Food was interesting and fun to try cajun. I can't say that crawfish is my taste but... More

This is a must do when visiting Lafayette and Breaux Bridge area. Every Saturday morning they have a zydeco band that plays. I had such a great time dancing, the food, the company. I will go here again before I leave.

Yes, yes, yes, this is genuine cajun, right in the old downtown of Breau Bridge. We don't care for the dark rouxs and everything had really dark roux.....so, OK, let's get past that. We were there in September (a month ending in r, so the crawfish are supposed to be good), well they weren't.....tiny little buggers.....hard to find them in... More

Co-workers told me about the zydeco breakfasts here. Well we didn't make it for that but made it at lunch time, just as the band was putting their gear away. Service was bad, they had no oysters, crabmeat ( this is LA) and no croissants. Ok, maybe they used it all up at breakfast? Waited over 10 minutes to get... More

My grand daughter and I went to eat dinner. She is 7. When we got our food, the presentation was not as good as it was last time we had eaten there, but you think the taste will make up for it. Sorry to say it did not. Even the ambience was not the same. It had been about a... More

For a taste of great food and music all set in a cajun atmosphere go to this restaurant. Get there early on Saturday morning to dance to zydeco music and eat a cajun breakfast. I had Beignets and coffee as an appetizer. Then a bowl of Couche Couche and finished breakfast with a Bloody Mary. I hearcthe Mimosa's are good... More

Only 1 of say 2 open in mid summer night for dinner, we tried both. Excellent choice, service great & friendly, menu good. Understand if there on weekend place is packed for the music as well
