We went to George's for lunch and at first we sat down waiting for someone but then quickly realized you wrote down your own order at the bar. As scanning over the menus which had a lot of good food on it, a cheeseburger came out for another order...and our minds were quickly made up! The cheeseburger was as good... More

We have enjoyed this place for years. The kids grew up eating burgers and cheeese fries and the adults now eat the whole menu. Always fun and great atmosphere.

There are more types of sandwiches here than one can imagine. All good. The atmosphere is typical for a bar/restaurant...Sort of woodsy and dark, even at 1PM. There is no service, so to speak, you place your order at the bar. When called, you pay and enjoy. Lots of choice of beers and colas.

Well in Louisiana we had to try Po Boys, red beans and rice, and gumbo. The food did not disappoint. The server was friendly and very helpful. Orders were placed at the bar can you pick up when ready. Yeah I miss fear was quite rustic.

Pulled up George's on Trip Advisor yesterday. Easy decision to try based on reviews, thanks to those reviews and my groups experience yesterday afternoon, George's will now be on my "Food Schedule" when I'm in town. Everything is made from scratch and it makes a difference. So me, my son, and two buddies had the following: Oysters Acadian (only offered... More

Went for a college tour of LSU, knew George's from 20 years ago, met a person from the tour who commented "You picked a good college to visit, but the best place to eat!" Classic Dive, unparalleled choices of great local fried seafood, burgers and po' boys. I don't remember all the other places around 20 years ago, but they... More

We have been to George's several times and the food is consistently great. The bar staff is courteous and professional. The atmosphere is comfortable and you can totally be yourself at George's. The location is also convenient to LSU and all of the business district from downtown or Corp Center. Thanks George's for a good time!

Been here several times over the last few years and every time and every thing I have eaten the has been very good. Today I ate an especially good meal of fried oysters Acadian. It is fried oysters on top of rice with a little roux in the bottom that is fantastic. The menu is on the chalk board. You... More

I did not choose this place, nor would I have eaten there if I was by myself. There is tons of dust and dirt hanging from the ceiling with a fan blowing right above several tables. Aside from that you have to order food at the bar, which is fine but instead of having you pay when you order you... More

Excellent food and great down home service. Excellent selection of beer and hamburgers. Family friendly and with a casual feel. Lots of locations throughout Baton Rouge. Outdoor dining with live music on weekends.
