First, let me say that Juban's came recommended by several people. My party had two tables with two different servers. My party was quite happy with the server and food. I wish I could say the same for our out of town guest that we were trying to please. This review is based on what they told me about their... More

This place ended up being a pleasant surprise. My fiancé and I were wanting a light meal before we headed back to our hotel for the night around 9pm, and while doing a Google search came across this place. We ended up ordering the Gumbo and the Soup of the Day, and it was absolutely fantastic, with a generous portion... More

The Prix Fixe lunches at Juban's are a terrific bargain. Offered Tuesday thru Friday, you get gumbo, soup or salad, an entree, and desert for under $20. There are three entrees offered each day. Three of us went for the panned veal liver. We have done this before and we will do it again because 1) hard to find elsewhere... More

The meal was fantastic I had a great steak and my wife had a shrimp dish that she loved. The food was prepared perfectly and the service made you feel very special. Will visit many more times for sure

Juban's is one of my favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge, especially for lunch. The menu contains a lot of variety with longstanding Louisiana favorites. Don't let the entrance fool you. Once you step inside, you are transported to a place that feels like old New Orleans. The waiters are the best, taking good care of you and keeping you entertained... More

These guys are set up to host business dinner for professionals. I forgot the room we had last night, it was one of the smaller private rooms. My meeting was with highly respected surgeons in the city and their staff presenting a new tool in genomic solutions. From the reception till we left, it was a captive audience because the... More

The setting and atmosphere are beautiful and the wait staff is usually excellent except for an occasional one (probably a newbie). The food is another story. The menu is a bit sparse and the celebrated "Hallelujah Crab" is mediocre at best. Specials are usually pretty good but really pricey for what you get. Fish dishes are sometimes greasy and under... Excellent food, service and the bread pudding is a world class dessert. The gumbo is a chefs version made with care and lots of flavor. The shrimp and grits is elevated to a delicacy. I will be back even if it's just to get the bread pudding and fine service.

was teaching at LSU for the week and this is a white table cloth restaurant and they attempt to be pretentious in that regard and it probably works but it is not my style. The food is ok, the service is ok, the prices for the food served is expensive and my take is that if you want to entertain... More

Juban's used to be the best place in town to eat. But after two visits yearning for their famous bouillabaisse- which they've now officially discontinued- I'm disappointed. My favorite wine by the glass has been discontinued, too. And the waitstaff was not as attentive as they used to be (I asked for berries with my ice cream, not visa versa,... More
