This may be one of the oldest establishments in the downtown BR area, but I certainly would advise you to visit them for some of the best po-boys around. If you don't like po-boys there are many other items on the list that are just as delicious. The owner is a very delightful man and even though they are normally... More

We chose our route from Florida to Oklahoma to go through Baton Rouge so we could eat at Poor Boy Lloyd's again. So glad we did. Had the fried shrimp po-boy sandwich again and it was just as good as we remembered.

Tradition offerings along with unique choices - rabbit sausage, deer sausage, even alligator. Perfect bread for pro-boys. Great service.

Friends on a Saturday evening in Downtown Baton Rouge to have dinner at 'Poor Boy LLOYDS'. Were we ever in for a treat! We waited in single file in the entrance hallway to place our orders while the rest of our party found a table that would hold our group. The menu was varied and written neatly on a chalk... More

We probably would have never stopped here without Tripadvisor. Thank goodness it helps tourists find local places like this. We enjoyed the poboys and they had a good selection. The server at the counter was patient with my kids and helped them figure out what they wanted. The restaurant is not fancy and the bathrooms are teeny tiny but this... More

This is an unpretentious eating house on a street corner in downtown Baton Rouge recalling a time when nearly everyone ate something substantial at midday. (That’s why de-segregating lunch counters in the days of the civil rights movement mattered so much). This place has square tables with plastic tablecloths; you order at one counter and pay at another, and the... More

I am a visitor to Louisiana and I wanted to taste an authentic great poor boy so I ventured to Poor Boy Lloyd's - 2 short blocks from Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown. When you enter you go to the right and stop at the serving counter to place your order. Friendly staff. I ordered the crawfish poor boy with... More

The po boys here are great and the service is friendly. The place looks to have changed little for years and it is all the better for that. Highly recommended for a tasty lunch.
