I was working in Baton Rouge and one of the lawyers I was working with recommended we eat there. I said that I wanted Cajun food. I ordered the blacken catfish (great) and we shared a bowel of fried alligator tail. I had to try it. I loved it!

My husband and I are here for the Louisiana Marathon. I would like to begin by saying we are not picky people. I researched places to eat in Baton Rouge before leaving home. The Chimes kept catching my eye. Well, it did NOT live up to the pictures nor reviews we read. **The carpeted floors were littered with trash. Looked... More

A friend and I paid Baton Rouge a visit especially to see yet another State Capitol. It was an overnight visit and when we checked in on a Monday night at an hotel close to the university we asked the receptionist to recommend a restaurant. and he gave us directions to Chimes. Despite this we had great difficulty finding the... More

Nice selection of beer, and loads of local specialities. Huge portions, and quite tasty. It tends to be very busy during evenings, but the waiting time is usually quite modest, and well organised.

The Chimes is a must if you are in Baton Rouge near the LSU campus. They have a great beer selection and the food is very good. I had the crawfish ettouffe which was excellent. The roll served with it was so tasty. My companions had grilled shrimp salads which they said were good. Waitress was friendly and helpful. We... More

Used to eat here while doing my masters at LSU. Every Week for two years my highlight was the crawfish etouffe and was worried when we recently dropped in. It was just as good and just a wonderful bit of cajun favors. This is a must stop place, trust me!

We did not go to LSU and all of our alumni friends recommend The Chimes! We went on a busy game day (LSU vs Florida). The game was at noon and there was a 9am rush that filled all of the tables. We were number 33 on the list and thought we'd get a drink or two at the bar... More
