My wife and I decided to try this place on the spur of the moment. We are in our early 60's and live in east Louisville so the drive to Shelbyville is 20-30 minutes. The outside of the restaurant is relatively plain but on entering, and I say this as a complement, I felt like it was 1962 again. Let... More

This is a wonderful place with excellent food and a homey atmosphere. I have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed in the food or the service. Everyone here is very friendly and helpful. Love it

I have been to the Bell House before for lunch a few times but this was my first time for dinner. My main course was EXACTLY as ordered. Standing rib roast (they call it prime rib but it is not at all prime). Wife's fish was very nice but a little over cooked. Salmon should not be firm all the... More

This was a second time for us and our friends to the Bell House Restaurant. We drove 20 miles; our friends drove farther. This was also the second time that Deborah, a delightful waitress, was ours for the evening. My husband and I had the ribeye steak. The steak was cooked to our liking and was very tasty as were... On our way to Indiana from NC, my wife and I ran into some heavy traffic outside of Louiville. We decided to have some dinner and wait for the traffic to let up. Purely by coincidence we "landed" at the Bell House Restaurant. In the middle of what is a very quite town, the Bell House immediately stood out as... More

A small restaurant in an old house in a small town in KY- a real southern style setting. I try to eat here once or twice a year when traveling from/to IL and FL. The food is always great, mostly adept young severs in a special setting. Have known the owners for over 50 years, and they have an eye... More

My wife and I were looking for a local non fast food establishment to have lunch while traveling from our home in South Carolina to our summer home in Minnesota. Once again we consulted this website on our smart phone and decided to give the Bell House a try based on good reviews and interesting pictures posted here. It turned... More

I live in the area, and I enjoy eating locally. The Bell House is a nice little place to stop by for a quiet light lunch. I love their Tomato Basil soup.

What a darling place. We had a party of 6 and went to the Bell House on a Thursday. It was not crowded and we were able to have nice conversations at the table. Our server was attentive, but not in your face. The food was wonderful, particularly the Kentucky Hot Brown and the Pork Tenderloin. Located in a lovely... More

This restaurant is owned and operated by a wonderful older couple. You will likely be greeted by one of them. This is really special in this world of chain restaurants. The food is also excellent, and the service very good. I have been there many times for lunch and several times for dinner. The food never disappoints, plus you get... More
