I stopped in while in town on business. To start had the sunchoke bisque, which was light and refreshing. The silver carp for a main, was a bit on the sweeter side. Thought about having another cocktail but waitress disappeared for a bit so decided...to just get the check at the next opportunity and grab one elsewhere. Typically I would expect for the prices that the service would be well above average. If you are closer to the kitchen or a bigger party you may get better service from what I saw.More

I wanted to go here because it's the restaurant of a Top Chef alum. The place is very nice with an extremely friendly staff. The price is reasonable the food was good. I had the pork shoulder and my wife had the shrimp and grits....Sarah delivered our food and chatted for a moment. When we left she got our attention and thanked us for coming. You should go.More

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here. This is the second time we have visited. Arrived on a Tuesday evening about 20 minutes prior to our reserved time of 7pm. We were seated immediately. Waitress brought waters and asked for our drink orders. We...passed on drinks. I got the seared duck with cauliflower and my husband had the silver carp. Both very good and we cleaned our plates. We also tried the garlic parmesan truffle oil fries. Whoa! Would order those again and again. Amazing! Worth the $2 upcharge. For dessert be had the bacon fat brownie and I had the pana cotta. Both very good and again we cleaned our plates. Chef Sara delivered our entrees and the waitress and other staff were very attentive. Steady, but not busy for a weeknight. We left about 8 very satisfied and full, but not too full. $79.00 bill without tip. Honestly, very affordable for the highest quality of food in Paducah. We will return again and again!More

Delicious Delicious Delicious. What a treat this place is amazing. Husband got the carp and I got the Shrimp N Grits. We were celebrating our anniversary and couldn’t have made a better choice.

This was within walking distance of downtown, the food was excellent, the service was also excellent. It is not inexpensive, and the portions are on the small side, but the food and ambience was worth it, a special treat! We sat on the lovely screened...deck and had a thoroughly perfect evening.More

This is probably the nicest restaurant in paducah, there are lots of chains near highway. This place is near downtown riverfront. It was best shrimp and grits ever! My husband had scallops, the portion was small, otherwise tasty. Drinks were good, nice selection. I gave...very good because it was a bit expensive. Recommend for you if you dont mind paying more for very good food!More

Our experience at the Freight House was very good. The atmosphere was nice but I suppose it could get a little noisy with a larger crowd. Our crowd was small and reserved, thanks perhaps to COVID restrictions. We had been looking forward to sampling the...work of the chef, Sara Bradley, who was the runner-up on season 16 of Top Chef. Her farm-to-table creations were very impressive. I had the silver carp served with potato chowder and truly savored every bite. I don't know how Sara came up with that combo but it definitely works. My wife chose the butternut squash tostada with a grilled caesar salad. I sampled the salad and can tell you that it was awesome. Once again, how did Sara think to grill the romaine heart? I'll be trying that at home. The service was a little slow but maybe that was just a matter of being a weeknight during the pandemic. But, I did wonder if they'd misplaced my cocktail order. Finally, my "Gettin' Figgy With It" came and I really enjoyed it. Overall, the Freight House is a very nice place to eat.More

It's a big open cold space and you are greeted by a teenager who could care less. The wait staff is eclectically attired and adorned BUT the food is just fine. Pork rinds, Caesars and wedge salads good. shrimp and grits and Mom's meatloaf also...good. The dessert we had, chocolate cake, is unremarkable. We would recommend you to try it as the kitchen tries hard and successfully in our opinion.More

No words can clearly describe this place! No wonder the chef was 2nd in Top Chef! We had, seriously, one of the greatest dining experiences!

There is not a private room but there is more of a private section. We used this area for my rehearsal dinner and it was great!
