Polite and prompt servers.Wonderful atmosphere and excellent music selection that is at just the right volume. The food is excellent and made from local ingredients. The beer cheese is the best I have ever eaten and the shrimp and grits are a classic southern favorite served up...with the best grits around. All in all the desserts are first class as well.Enjoy your experience at a truly fine dining venue.More

My wife and I enjoyed a very nice meal here on a busy Friday evening. The menu isn’t extensive, but there was a good variety of choices. Who knew that silver carp could taste so delicious? The pork shoulder was also very tender and tasty....Paducah is lucky to have this place!More

Made reservations here on our first trip to Paducah to see a concert. Was pleasantly surprised at the food choice, presentation, service and our dishes were great. Also a good selection of bourbons from smaller distilleries. Will come back when I get a chance

Had wine, cornbread, deviled eggs, salad, pea soup, squash and a shrimp roll between the 2 of us. I like cornbread and this was just ok. The squash burned my mouth and I will feel that for days. Salad and shrimp roll were WAY over...dressed. I guess that is a northern or mid west thing. I expected more after reading the reviews but I think there was more hype than substance.More

Good, interesting (but severely limited) menu. The server was knowledgeable about both the food and the beers on offer, and was helpful. The dishes we got (grilled meatloaf and grilled Caesar salad) were quite good, and the whole experience merits a return when we’re next...in town.More

A return visit didn't match up to the first time re. my food choices - a tart (tiny) and salad (huge chopped up mediocre). Didn't find the entrees very interesting. My partner, however, raved about his pork and cabbage dish. Wine glasses were spectacular!

Outstanding food! Farm to table is everything you’d want. The Caesar salad was amazing. The light char and breadcrumbs on baby Romain was delicious! I ordered the pot roast lasagna and it was exactly as I expected. Creamy cheese, fresh pasta and with pot roast...in lieu of ground beef was delicious. I would definitely eat here again, and order exactly the same thing!! Had the goat cheese cheesecake fluff for dessert and it was very good but needed more strawberries to be excellent. The coffee was too strong so not sure if the server pulled my cup before it was done (I like strong coffee but even with extra hot water I couldn’t drink it)!More

Very good restaurant. We visited due to seeing Sara Bradley compete on Top Chef. Service was excellent and food was an elevated version of Southern/Country cooking. We are big fans of farm to table/locally sourced and seasonal food and Freight House did not disappoint.

My foodie cousin came to visit and we knew where to take him. We had such a delicious meal. From soup to nuts, everything was absolutely spot-on. Our favorites were the black eyed pea tart and the salmon. Thank you for your great food, Freight...House!More

Our hotel directed us to this award winning restaurant. Yes, WOW! describes it. From their locally sourced, Farm-to-Table, dishes to their VERY nice bourbon list, they're really top notched. We thoroughly enjoyed their rib specialties and shrimp & grits. -Perfect. They're not cheap, but not...over expensive when considering what you are experiencing. Do yourselves a favor and check out this restaurant. Conveniently located in downtown Paducah which all offers additional cool things to do and experience.More

This was BY FAR the best place we ate while in Paducah. Everything from the drink to the appetizers to the main course was fresh, creatively paired and delicious. Service and atmosphere were great as well. This restaurant is a destination place! We will be...back!More

My husband and I travel to Kentucky lake from Louisville several times a year. We decided to try the Freighthouse last evening. I’ve heard so many good things about this restaurant, however, much to our dismay we were not impressed. I ordered the barbecue, and...it was so sweet, I couldn’t eat it. The fries were extremely salty, and my husband who puts salt on pickles couldn’t eat them. The restaurant itself reminded me of a cafeteria. Wait staff was nice enough, but when I asked for a glass of ice when my alcoholic beverage was delivered, the bartender was annoyed. They do have great prices on wine by the bottle, but overall the food is very expensive . We will not be returning!More

Walked here from our Vrbo above Grill 211 on Broadway. Ordered the salmon, absolutely delicious! Love farm to table and the low prices here are a nice reprieve! Great service, clean and comfortable seating. We sat out on screened in porch, ceiling fans kept us...cool and LOVED the atmosphere!More

This was a place I wanted to try. My buddy did not realize how expensive it would be. We sat at the bar. Menu is a QR code you ave to scan. I ordered a beer from the tap. Bartender was nice. The place was...clean and pleasant looking. It was a Saturday night and you probably need reservations. We left once we saw the prices. Good for a couple for a nice evening. Well stocked bar and pleasant staff.More

There is not a private room but there is more of a private section. We used this area for my rehearsal dinner and it was great!

I made a reservation, but if it is during midweek and you are a small party, there will probably be room for walk-ins.
